      Lucid Dreaming Motivation

      Hello
I've been really lacking in lucid dreaming motivation lately.
My dream recall has gone down the toilet, and when I can remember a dream in the morning I just can't be bothered to write it down.
It's been like this since I started moving, as seeing my dad again (he was helping us move) combined with constant stress from moving in general seems to have driven all of my enthusiasm for lucid dreaming out of my mind.
I read about other peoples lucid dreams and how cool they are to try to get myself motivated but I just feel down instead because I feel like I'll never achieve this.
I also had no internet for ages so no way to access DreamViews which probably didn't help either :/
I just wanted to know has anybody else experienced this complete lack of motivation and enthusiasm for lucid dreaming? How did you overcome it? Any tips?
      Thanks for reading!

I have to say that, for me, I am the most motivated to lucid dream in those periods when I feel depressed.
When I am very happy with my life, the motivation comes naturally, I enjoy things more and dreaming is part of it. And when darkness seems to come, I regularly view lucid dreaming as an escape door from all the anxiety and sadness I experience in the waking life.

I guess that you just have to work on how you see lucid dreaming, depending on the situation. Don't you want to relieve that stress of moving and seeing your dad, be in an environment where nothing can worry you whatsoever, create a place where all of this can go away ?

I am not expert on this, but this is how it helps me overcome lack of motivation.

I've experienced this many times. The way I overcome it usually involves re-examining why I got interested in the first place, as well as reading things on dreamviews, or reading stuff from books. So! Remember why you wanted to lucid dream. Feel the motivation and emotions you felt when you discovered you could do it. And as Manoko said, lucid dreaming is helpful for having a brief respite from stressful situations, time to yourself where you can just play around in your dreams or relax or whatever it is you want to do. It's important to keep reminding yourself of these things, to keep your motivation up, because there will be times where you honestly just don't feel like committing. It happens. But, luckily, it doesn't require too much effort, technique depending.
So, make sure to try to keep your interest up. Try your best to recall your dreams. I've found that the more I stick with writing in my dream journal and building my recall, the easier it is for me to become lucid. Stick with it, remind yourself every now and then of what you need to do, and most importantly: remember why you started, the reasons you enjoy it and why it's worth it, because it is!

I go through phases. Best tip is to make sure you're getting enough rest, you won't get lucid with a sleepy or burnt out mind. Don't worry about giving yourself time off either. Sometimes we all need to take a break, even from the things we think are brilliant. Take a break and come back to it when it feels right!

Sorry for not replying sooner everyone, I've been really busy lately with life and things so I haven't been able to come onto DreamViews since I posted this :/
I'm getting back into DJing and trying for a lucid dream now, I actually had a lucid last night! It was really short but it's really inspired me to get back into it and I'm feeling motivated again now
Thanks for replying, hopefully I'll be able to come on her more often and reply a bit quicker now that things have calmed down a bit.
