Have you looked at these forums, there are a lot of threads on different substances, and also research and experiments on their effect on dreams. There are lots of legal dream enhancers by the way to try out, so take you time to read about the possibilities. Take care! |

The most extreme method i use is to prolong my WILD attempts to 4 hours until i get exhausted, which has resulted in many DILDs and OBEs ( WILDs in my bed room ? ) and sometimes a strong REM rebound next night ! sometimes i can´t fall asleep again, which is ofc very disappointing after wasting sleep time. |

Check your memory, did any suprising event happpen ? does the present make sense ? visualize what you will do when lucid, and how. Reality check as reminder of your intention to lucid dream tonight. Sleep as good as you can; when going to sleep, relax and invite whatever comes with curiosity. Grab your dream journal immediately as you awake and write everything you can recall (if only when you wake up for good). Keep calm, positive and persistent, and don't forget to have fun along the way
I don't think hypnosis can be counted as an 'extreme' method, seems to be perfectly fine and some people here on dreamviews are using it to help in lucid dreaming as far as i know, and also technically mantras that we do for lucid dreaming are also can be somewhat counted as an form of self-hypnosis on the some level, i think. |

I tried an experiment once last summer where I tried a sort of WILD 'relaxation' attempt (*edit*) using water one afternoon which was a little bit dangerous, especially as I was on my own at the time. |
