Thread: Post the last time you did a RC, and the reason.

Alright, my DILD rate has dropped significantly, and I think that this thread may help improve it.



Last time I did one was because I saw a rope on the ground that I thought was a snake. (snakes are a long time dream sign of mine)

Do you mean a reality check inside or outside of a dream?

Inisde: My bath tub had two drains
Outside: The tornado sirens went off through our city, but it was a test. It isn't my dream sign, but it was something out of norm.

I was out, getting a pizza for dinner, and I ended up caught behind this semi truck at a stop light. The truck was in both lanes so I couldn't get up any further. He was parked this way because he was about to attempt a tight right turn. Lights turn green and he goes, right into a telephone pole, cracking it and hitting the light post as well. Luckily he didn't continue trying to force his way past. He stopped, reversed, and decided to go straight up the street instead of turning.

Never seen a semi hit something like that before. Immediate Reality Check for me.

So I'm finishing up with my windshield (long story) and there's a cat under my hood.

Yesterday when my DV post posted into the past. For a moment I thought I could be in a dream.

Inside a dream, I looked at my left palm to see if it looked different than in reality. I was already mostly aware that I was dreaming because it was the third of a series of false awakenings, and this was the most vivid one yet that night. The strange thing is that my palm looked exactly like it does in real life, so I guess that was a failed reality check, but it made no difference in terms of me realizing that I was already dreaming, since I already was pretty sure. Then the crazy snow storm outside that kept switching directions was a good sign that I was definitely dreaming.

About 5 minutes ago, I was laying in bed trying to sleep and suddenly decided to go lurk some forums, and just to make sure I didn't actually fall asleep I did a RC .

Last time I RCed was a few mins ago, out of habit, but the last RC in a dream was me showing my friends that we were in a dream. I showed them to nose plug RC.

Aside from the habitual doing it when I wake up and doing it when I think about doing it, last time I did it was when there were less deer in my bathtub than there were a second ago. Popped me right into the first LD I've had in a while (just started trying again)

It was that the number of them changed, not the fact that they were there in the first place. Brains are weird.

Walking home from uni down a rather long and steep hill, whenreading past me I see a man in a disproportionatly long scarf riding a unicycle... Is perhaps one of three times I've found it nessecary to RC in life, and one of the strangest things I've been witness to.

About a week ago I was in a crowded mall. A sense of unfamiliarity came over me and I realized I might be dreaming so I turned quickly to see what was behind me. All the DC's had become shadows and were running away from me. I realized I was definitively dreaming.

I was lucid, and my brother and my aunt were in my house. They tried to convince me that I had actually woken up. I began to believe them. I looked at my alarm clock, and I got a false negative. I couldn't take not knowing, so I forced myself to wake up.

Last time i RCed i was looking in a mirror and saw i had no facial features except a mouth. Found it a bit disturbing and decided to go on dreaming. Only to look at myself again in the mirror and became lucid for the second time. At that time i tried using the mirror as a portal but failed horribly and just decided to wake up then :/

Had another DILD last night. This time I did the RC because the architecture of the building I was in was changing before my eyes, and my vision flashed out for a second and I just saw symbols (ever played Dead Space? Yeah, THAT.) I became lucid, but because I was freaking out a little bit I accidentally summoned demons; fortunately I was able to get a handle on things, unsummon them, and go screw around for the rest of the dream.

School today. My teacher was dancing in the corner of the classroom thinking nobody was watching. My teacher was dancing.

What were you doing and where were you standing when you saw this? Outside looking through a window or something?

Inside: Was flying around inside my house ( I don't know how, my house is fucking tiny) and I decided I may be dreaming. Did the nose pinch RC, and confirmed I was dreaming.
Outside: My dog was sitting completely still, staring at me with a blank face, making no sounds. Normally he is very animated so that was weird. Did an RC, and confirmed I was in real life.

I usually reality check when something not normal happens.

Last night, I was in a dream in my bed, I got up and walked to the top of my stairs then realized I was dreaming because I didn't go to the toilet which I always do in the mornings and from then I went on and had an awesome lucid dream, and in real life I rced two minutes ago when I saw the name of this thread.

I do not need reality check. When I am lucid for me is obvious that I am dreaming.

Last night. All the way to and from bathroom. Just woke up from DILD and had a creepy feeling I'm still in it. Fun, fun, fun!

Oh yeah, and in DILD. First count 6, second count 7 fingers. Took me by surprise.

I did an RC in dream last night. I don't do it very often, but I was like... I was here like five minutes ago in a dream, that means I am dreaming. I checked my hands and there was one finger bent in a really weirs way. I was getting ready to do something crazy after that, so I did an RC again before starting since I was afraid that I was actually awake since it was so realistic.

I'm in the bathroom, and pipes are randomly bursting open and water is going ever where. I did a nose pinch and realized it was dreaming.

I was on the train last night dozing on the edge of sleep then suddenly I snap awake. I do a RC to make sure I didn't actually fall asleep.
