      Drawing/writing out visualizations?

I've been wondering... Is it possible to aid your ability to lucid dream by sketching out your visualizations? I don't mean huge, beautiful, gorgeous art masterpieces. I mean like... Say you visualized an enormous castle looming over the cliff-side, waterfalls rushing down the steep edge. You would then draw a simple attempt at a castle with some waterfalls on a cliff. Then possibly, slowly add detail as you visualize more things until it becomes a fairly detailed drawing.
I also had another idea along the same lines of the first one. Would it be possible to aid your ability to lucid dream by writing out visualizations? For example, I'll use the previous idea.
"The enormous castle loomed over the steep, rocky cliff-side, casting a dark shadow over the land. Before me lied a path down to a sandy beach surrounding the gigantic lake. Whitewater rapids rushed and gurgled down the cliffs alongside the castle, which had an old air to it. They split into multiple waterfalls that dropped down into the lake."
So what's your guys outtake on these ideas?

Evey: Well I can see that...
V: Of course you can. I'm not questioning your powers of observation. I'm simply remarking upon the paradox of asking a masked man who he is.

I would presume so, if you try to be as descriptive as possible in what you experienced, you're bound to have better recall and more rich vocabulary that will help you remember the experience if you decided to read that entry in your dream journal after months or even years from now.

The same goes for drawing out your visualizations, it seems pretty straightforward that each line you make, your brain is going to process it, and when you're done, even if it's just a general outline of what you experienced, the brain should be able to fill in the gaps, and with writing out your visualizations, that would make things easier when it's filling in those gaps if you go back to it weeks, months, years from now.

The same with feelings as well.

If it helps the clarity of your visualization it could work. Try it and let us know how it works. You might try photoshopping a more realistic image.

Absolutely! The more you think about what you want to do in a LD, better you will remember it once in LD. So thinking about it, writing about it, drawing it, talking about it, playing it out - the more senses you engage, the better it will be.

This definitely works when recalling the physical properties of the dream. However, I find that if I don't write down the plot and just draw a visualization, my recall is hindered.

I'm definitely gonna have to try that out tonight! Btw, that dream idea was actually my visualization I've been making for the last few nights. As for photo-shopping a real picture... Unfortunately I have no photo-shop skills at all and I don't own photo-shop. D: It seems to me that drawing it out on paper like that might work better. Call me crazy but if the visualization seems old, vintage, or nature-based, I think it might work better on some kind of old paper, especially if you were to only work with candle-light on a vintage wooden desk, in a wooden chair, and a quill and ink. Whereas, a more modern dream seems like it might work better if you used photo-shop or some kind of computer in a more modern environment. Just a weird little idea.

P.S. I wonder if it would be possible to use this as sort of a more surefire mantra. If so, maybe it would be possible to use this for dream recall. Personally, I myself wanna try that too tonight along with my goal of creating a constant universe. Btw, gab, I friggin' love you for giving me the idea of acting it out, you wouldn't believe how immensely fun acting out a visualization is. lol

Oh, but I would. I'm doing it myself. I practiced where I want to end up once I project to OBE and it totally worked. I was amazed, and it made a believer out of me. Good luck

Tried it just the other night and it wasn't quite successful. HOWEVER, I did have recall two short dreams/dream segments that night. One of them was lucid but ended shortly after I became lucid, although I didn't feel too excited. Maybe that was a problem with stabilization or just bad luck but anyways. I DID remember the goal I wrote down AND writing it down ONCE I became lucid so it did have success to some extent I guess. I'll try it again a few times over the weekend, maybe with some naps in-between and inform you guys when I'm done. Wish me luck!

I think this would definitely work. I usually write something in my dream journal right before I go to sleep. I have a lot of success writing simple affirmations such as, "I will remember my dreams," or "I will wrestle a sea serpent."

Don't take it as a failure, because it's not. It most likely won't work immediatelly or every time. But if you keep practicing, it will get better.

I found that watching something that leaves deep impact on me influences my dreams. So let's say you want to dream about castles and waterfalls - check out some stuff on youtube just before going to bed. I'm sure there are some videos of cool castles and waterfalls. Feel amazed while watching it.
