Hey, I've recently just started lucid dreaming through the wake back to bed method and I love it! I haven't had as much fun as I could though because whenever I wish for things or want things to happen, nothing does. I can't get things to go my way. I can't control my dream to the full extent of it and as much as I'd like to... I've had about 8 lucid dreams and I just started not more than 3 weeks ago. It's fairly easy for me to lucid dream now. I had this morning and I was in my room, wishing for a girl to appear(don't ask ) and nothing would happen! I spent the whole dream trying to wish for things and nothing would happen, then my dream was over before I could do anything fun... I had a false awakening(always have them) and since i have a clock next to my bed I check it every time I wake up which makes me aware that I'm dreaming. The other day I had FOUR false awakenings, all resulting in different lucid dreams, but I didn't do anything fun because I can't control them the way I want them to... |

Almost every LD I've had was from me waking up in my bed. I think that's because when I enter sleep paralysis I just let myself get through it and wait until it's over, then I open my eyes, and I'm dreaming! My dream this morning was as clear as real life, and yet I couldn't control anything. I'm aware of how to make my dream more vivid and I've done it, but that's not my problem. My problem is I can't control my dreams to the extent that I want to and it ruins the fun |

So you mean that you can't control the dreaming at all? You are lucid but it feels like being in another body? Hmm if I don't remember wrong I think I experienced something similar to that. |

Yeah. I mean I can't make things happen in the dream. I remember when i was like 5 I had one and all I did was close my eyes and say say "I wish to have a gun" and a bunch of guns appeared in front of me after I opened my eyes. When I do that now, nothing happens. I can control some things, but not EVERYTHING. Like the other day I teleported like 20 feet infront of me but somehow I can't teleport to another place that isn't in my line of sight. I just can't do everything I would like to do. Or when I do get something I wish for, for example, I wished for Harry Potter powers the first dream I had, and I got them. But sometimes the spells didn't work or weren't working properly. Or I wished for a sword, but it was all flabby and not swordy at all. |

As powerful as the brain may be it might not be able create a spell you don't have a memory of or a sword might be too detailed. I mean why do you think the counting fingers reality check works. |
|
Hmm alright.. Thanks for the help though! |

You might also try knowing what you want and expecting it in a drawer or around a corner...down a hall or through a doorway. |

I tried this this morning. I wished for something and heard a thud somewhere in my room. I thought what I wished for was in the closet, I opened the closet, and it wasn't there |
|
Hmmm...only thing I can suggest is not wishing but 'knowing' you will find what you're looking for. |

Okay will do. But honestly from what I remember more than half my LDs have been inside my room. How can I dream into anywhere I want to be? Like when I'm in SP hallucinating and hearing things, I know I'm going to LD, but I don't know how I will get to where I am. This morning I tried thinking of being somewhere but I just ended up waking up into my dream like every other time. How can I like start my dream wherever I want to be? This will help me maybe get to a museum or find a book that has like magical power in which I can write my wishes in and it'll come true. Because I've been stuck in my room/house for many of my LDs. Mostly because I haven't gone out to explore because I've spent the whole time trying to wish for something until my dream is over and i didn't achieve anything. |

1. You don't always have control in a lucid dream, or you may have different level of control. That doesn't mean that anything is wrong. It's a learned skill and takes practice, and even then you don't always have control. If you get frustrated over it, it will not work. |
