I'm trying this for the first time tonight. I've made a few basic WILD attempts before bed from what I understand that really doesn't do much, and I haven't had much luck falling asleep (I have been having more DILDs however.)

I'm actually out of bed right now (my understanding is about 90 minutes of regular brain activity, preferably using your mind for something involving lucid dreaming.) The only question I really have, I set my alarm for about 4:30, I got up naturally only a couple minutes after three, giving me about 4 hours of sleep.

Because of the way I awoke, I feel I just exitted a dream which was fairly (not extremely) short in length, in terms of dreams at least. I did use this oppurtunity to write this dream down, and a few details of what I believe was a dream before it.

I'm not entirely sure that I should be waking at the end of a REM cycle to try a WBTB? Are my concerns well placed? And also is the 4 hours timing perhaps out of place? I know that it's about 3-6 for an optimal time but I'm not sure if my experience was optimal or just chance.

Note: this is the second day in a row that I woke up in the middle of the night (something I haven't consciously done in years) Last night it was about about 5 hours of sleep. I set some goals before bed tonight to recognize my dreams and wake up after them, obviously I didn't become lucid (by recognizing my dreams) but did I perhaps set this other goal in my mind?
