Pre-SP nervousness
So I was playing around with Jeff777's free-falling wild technique one night in an attempt to induce a LD but encountered a problem towards the end, I heard a click somewhere behind my bed (and my bed is against the wall) immediately followed by a weird tingly sensation coming from my feet up to my neck. Im not sure if this was the wave of energy that he was speaking of, all I know is that I was experiencing this new sensation and it was making me nervous (and frankly, a little scared considering i live alone i had no idea what the click was). After this, I felt my heart rate speed up twice as fast and i knew that I could never fall asleep with all this going on, so in hope that I had already entered SP, I attempted to move my fingers to find that they could still move. Slightly upset at this failed attempt, I rolled over into a comfortable sleeping position and went to sleep normally. Although I remembered my dream that night, it wasn't exactly the result I was looking for. So what im wondering is, how can I make it so that I still remain relaxed and not startled over the sensations of a WILD?
Im sure this question has been asked before somewhere, but im not sure where to find information like this. (I'm new) Also if I was making a mistake and I CAN go to sleep even with my heart racing and it turns out that's all just a mental trick, let me know too :). Thanks.

You just need to know that nothing can hurt you, even though it might be scary at times, it is all your imagination:banana:

What calumdj said. You have to believe 100% that nothing can hurt you during this process.
You are just laying there in bed, and there is no one around you / close to you. No one and nothing that can harm you. It is all just "noise" and "illusions".
Once you get that, it'll be much easier.

Think of it as a part of the dream. When weird stuff starts happening, you are dreaming. Enjoy it.

I have the same problem. The first time I ever entered into SP, I knew it as soon as it happened. I heard a vibration that gradually became louder. Then my upper body started to shale badly. I then heard, clear as day, "Can you really believe in me?" That happened to me two more times. One of the most scariest things I have ever experienced in my life.
The key is to stay as calm as you possibly can knowing nothing can hurt you. Once I started breathing normally again, I only had very short snippets of dreams. I thought I was about to go lucid but I was slowly waking up already. That happened July 7th. Since then, my schedule has been a bit crazy so I haven't been able to practice lucid dreaming. I have also been a bit scared of SP since what happened, but as soon as school is done I will try again.
SP can be a scary thing, but just stay as calm as you possibly can!

When i get to SP i am so happy & exited that i am there that i get no scary hallucinations just the vibrations which is not scary at all anymore, but if my mind wont get away from scary thoughts while trying to get to SP i just stop because i know it's gonna end up bad

Being hyper-aware during the process of falling asleep can bring on insomnia... especially if it is not your intent to be aware. However, when it is your intent to be aware of SP you should think of it like a roller coaster. The more times you ride it, the more you get used to it. It is also important to note that SP is just one way to attempt a lucid dream. If it does not work for you try other techniques. Good luck to you!
