See, what i thought was, no way this bullshit is going to work, but second lucid ever and first in a month or more. Maybe something we dont understnd is happening. Also an important thing is that I was thinking about lucidity and all that stuff. |

Ooh, their breath is warm
And they smell like sleep
And they say they take me home
Like poppies heavy with seed
They take me deeper and deeper
what happens if you don't have a pool??? |
|
what about a shower? |
|
I dont think the cold water is needed. My pool is 90 degrees Farienheit, which is a warm as it gets in pools mostly. All that matters is that you think about lucid dreaming. Maybe its a good time to set your intentions. I will back out of giving instructions now, as it isnt my idea so bye |

i'll try this do you think a cold river would be better than a cold bath the river is 50 F or so hope this works |
|
Sure as long it makes you feel alive and replenished. If it's water then use it. |
|
I tried it in a hot bath last night.. didn't work! |

I used to do this to make myself faint.. (not in water ofc) I was a silly child |
|
I tried it 3 times, I did think maybe the bath was too hot, but I don't often take cold baths (and I live in the UK so if you think I'm jumping in the freezing, toxic sludge they call rivers.... you have another thing coming!) |

I would think just holding your breath would have the same effect, id say a good meditation for this would be to inhale slowly then hold your breath for 20 seconds or how ever long you want then exhale and hold you breath for the same amount of time. |

Having a lucid dream the night after you try it, is definately not enough evidence to suggest this works, and secondly the theory behind it makes no sense IF it has had any effect it is almost certainly a placrbo |
|
Placebo effect. If this works at all, it does it by building expectation. And that is what may increase alertness. Physiologically, this can do nothing but increase your heart rate for a couple minutes. |
|
That's not enough to say it has an effect on them lucid dreaming, more people say they have been abducted by aliens than that all the time, doesn't mean they actually have, the point is 3 people experiencing lucid dreams the night after doing this does not mean it works, it's an uncontrolled experiment, how are we to know how many people have actually tried it, or that it isn't a placebo? I would be more open to it if there was a reasonable theory behind it at least |

Controlled breathing opens the channels of energy throughout the body. The muscles respond to oxygen and the energy body in turn responds to the muscles through which electricity is channeled. |
|
now wait just a minute |

Just to clear things up, no one should be holding their breath for as long as they can. You only need to hold your breath until you feel a little uncomfortable. Holding your breath for as long as possible will not at all produce the effects you're looking to achieve here, it can be detrimental to your health to practice that for long periods of time or every night. You are not trying to kill brain cells here, just oxygenate your brain. It would be best to do this right before bed otherwise all you'll be receiving is a placebo effect. |
