      Can't Seem to Attain Lucidity

Namely, not having had a single lucid dream at all. I'm not really disappointed about it, since I have all the wildest and craziest dreams I could ever want, I just want to see if anyone could offer me any advice that might help. I have a physical dream journal that I write in and perform reality checks, but usually I have these long dry-spells that really get me nowhere.

I suppose if anything, I'd like to hear your ways of getting out of a dry-spells and any suggestion as far as trying out techniques or special reality checks or something! Anything, really! xD

Dream journals and reality checks are a great start. I would recomment you practice technique called MILD, that gives you dreams called DILDs. So add some http://www.dreamviews.com/f49/sat-sp...puffin-100798/ and some mantras. Read and think a lot about LDing to keep you motivated. Dream recall can flactuate, don't get discouraged because of that. I only had a long dry spell, when I was a little depressed or worried about something. But there are some threads and tutorials about how to get out of dryspell. Good luck and hope you have your first one soon

How long have you tried? It took about two weeks for me, but i read about some person who had is first LD after 5 months of trying. Just trust it will be worth it in the end.

Gab's information is absolutely correct and probably the best outlet to use to overcome this dry spell of yours. However, I do have an alternative.

Adopt a polyphasic sleeping schedule for just a few days. Its kind of like a jump start. Here is the link to a thread I posted not long ago about this
      http://www.dreamviews.com/f12/get-ov...d-hill-128835/

Basically in a nut shell your going to cut your sleep short by a few hours (around 3-4) and then catch up on that sleep between 2-3 naps during the day. Of course this technique only works if you have the time. Not everyone can fit a 1 hour nap in their schedule haha. But what this will do is pretty much set you right into REM sleep during those naps since you deprived yourself of anywhere between 2-3 hours of REM when you woke up early. Thus giving you the increased possibility of an LD, and of course dreams in general to recall.

Hey Gab, thanks for the link to Puffin's guide, I don't think I've read that yet! I'll be sure to give that a read when I get the chance. I'll also give mantras a chance considering I've never tried those either.

@Freda: Haha, two years. I certainly hope it will truly be worth it in the end. xD

@Chewnie: I've looked into those, although it sounds like something I would try when I'm not in school. Right now I usually take a single nap when I get home, but it's more out of exhaustion than for my sleep cycle.

Thanks guys for all the advice!

      Keep trying!!!!!
Even if it takes 10 years, don't stop because being Lucid is amazing! It will come to you eventually no matter how long.

Also something I did that seemed to work (That I need to start doing again) is wearing a rubber band around my wrist, and every fifteen minutes snapping it against my wrist, ask myself if I was dreaming, do an RC, and look around and asked myself if everything was normal.
