Thumbs up Anyone can learn to LD!

      Hey guys

I was just reading Paul Tholey and Kaleb Utecht`s book "Schöpferisches Träumen". I know it is German Well, as I read it, I found one part really motivating and intresting. It`s about that anybody can LD. Here it is:

"Lucid dreaming is an attainable skill. Anybody who uses the techniques, will do it. The one in just two nights, the other maybe in 60. Under the circumstances of using the techniques everyday, everybody, who did not give up, learnt to lucid dream very fast. Some dreamers, that may not learn it so fast, will give up after some weeks. That really is a shame, because it has shown, that by regular using of the techniques, there is a success in every case - even if in weeks, there always is a success in sight. So, there is no giving up!"

This is maybe not the best translation ever, but I think it gets the message through I really find this text intresting, motivating and inspirational.

So, anybody having trouble to LD? Do not give up, NEVER! This text really shows the importance of that.

      Wish you lucid journeys,

Very true. Just as my motivation begins to dwindle and i feel like i'm not getting nowhere, another lucid just occurs and reminds me that all the practice is worth it =]

I think this is one of the most important aspects of lucid dreaming - and something that separates the dreamers from the rest.

I know of people who have had LDs the first night they tried, and been able to WILD whenever they want, but I also know members who have been here for months and still haven't had their first lucid dream - but they're still around! To me it is that attitude and persistence that really makes lucid dreaming so special to those who do it.

There are of course, loads of people who see an incomplete guide on WILD or something about RCs and expect instant, consistant results, and when they don't get them, they get impatient and quit. The strive for them isn't there - and even if they do get lucids without the enthusiasm and excitement they quit anyway

I'm glad I read this because it's just more reason for me not to quit.
I hope my 10th month will be my lucky month and I hit a LD.

I think my biggest problem now is that I'm in a habit of drinking and/or smoking before bed and it has wreaked havoc with my dream recall. I need to find a way to go to bed earlier and sober.. hmmm..

Back when I first joined this forum I'd taken couple of years out of LDing after only having a couple of lucids as a teenager. I started trying to learn again and it took me over 8 months of intense effort before I finally succeeded. I am glad there were posts like this around when I was re-learning because I'd probably have given up too!!

You should not only stop smoking and drinking for LD, but for your own health too

      Sincerely,

Glad everyone gets something out of it! I really get inspired when reading that part You kind of can program yourself with that, just read that passage everynight before you go to sleep

      Wish you lucid journeys,

This is true! A lot of people think their the exception and will NEVER be able to have lucid dreams. The truth is that ANYONE can have lucids (unless you were dropped on your head as a baby...) ! You just need the right frame of mind and dedication. Stay Motivated!

HA, maybe I should try harder, my recall is on and off, mostly off now that i don't wbtb because my junior year course load is terrible, and after 3 years I've had like 10 random ones, and have yet to intentionally induce one. Stay consistent is the lesson, I guess
