Congratz indeed, great job! I am also a user of the DILD/DEILD combo, it works wonders for me. I am on a bit of a dryspell right now (I'm sure it'll end soon |

I think DEILD could really work for me but I don't have an alarm that will turn itself off and is loud enough |

You don't need an alarm at all to DEILD. You need to become concious of your nighttime awakenings. Everyone wakes up after every REM cycle. You usually fall asleep within a second or two and don't remember anything about it when you wake up, but you DO wake up every time. To be able to DEILD you need to become aware of those awakenings. Realize that you DO have them and set the intention to recognize the awakenings. That's all you need to do to recognize those awakenings. The next step is to lie completely still during the awakenings and then to fall back into REM. I'm not going to go into too much detail about going to REM because I'm not an expert on that subject, but there are a few good threads that can help you with that. With DEILD it goes a LOT faster than with WBTB-WILD, and you usually don't even recognize the SP. |

Ahh ok, I remember I kept waking up at 2 in the morning every night about a month ago. I planned to DEILD then but my first instinct was to roll over -.- |

Thanks guys! |

I've been doing DILD for 4 months but only 1 LD a week. I've decided to try DEILD. On average how long does it take to reenter? Do you think about that last dream or clear mind or what? Do you need to do something to stay lucid? |
|
Honestly, I am just starting out. I will give you my answers, but I will also post links to some threads that helped me. I haven't had a successful DEILD yet, but I will try to answer to the best of my knowledge. Reentering usually doesn't take long at all. It is so short, that you may not even feel SP. At first when you are starting out, it will take longer to reenter, but when you get more experienced reentering will be quicker. To DEILD, you need to think about your last dream that you just had before you wake up. Think about everything in the dream, think five senses. Also, try not to completely focus on your dream because completely focusing on it won't work, and not focusing on it enough won't work. You just have to find the perfect balance through trial and error. Staying lucid differentiates for different people. Some don't need to stabilize at all, and once they realize they become lucid, they just do what they want. Those people are usually the more advanced though. At first, focus on whats in the dream, and don't think about whats outside it. What might help is yelling "stabilize dream" or something like that. You just have to find what works for you, like pretty much everything. |
