      Music DILD???

I know there are alot of posts about inception but I think this could work.
If you have seen inception then you know they play music when it is time to wake up, and it goes through into the dream.

So what if you played gentle music at a low volume for like 20 minutes when you would be in rem? And everytime you hear that song RC.

Play it quietly so you just hear it and it doesn't wake you up.

I have heard that you can only hear external things at a certain part if a dream? Is it at the start, the end, or all the way through?

And if it wakes you up it would do it gently because it's quiet so you could Deild.

That sounds pretty interesting, but did you ever try it?
      Any results?

I haven't tried it, that's why I am asking for tips on it.
I am going to try it but I have to figure out how to make the music play in rem and how long for and what part of the dream to aim for, begguining, middle, or end.
      Any ideas?

Couldn't you just let it play the whole night?

Humans , and other animals, evolved the ability to hear in our sleep as a matter of survival. After all, early humans that did not awaken when a bear came into the cave were the first ones eaten. We never really stop hearing. It is the first sense we are aware of in the womb and the last sense to leave us as we are dying. Hope this helps!

Don't know if it was here on DV, but remember someone used songs as a RC and would play them in dreams, kinda like the nova dreamer, but cheaper and moar musical. So it does work.

Did you become lucid because you heard the music in your dream and realized?
And was it a Wbtb or not?

I was also thinking if you wake up from a dream and do a Wbtb and then go back to sleep with music on, then you would go straight into a dream. Like WILD but you don't need to try stay conscious so it would be easier. And then the music would probly be in the dream some how and you would obviously RC everytime you hear it.

I try and play the music so it's not too quiet but not too loud either. You have to get the right volume to hear it! I leave it playing on repeat all night so I can hear it all night and it goes into my dream then I say "oh yeah this music helps me become lucid! Maybe I am dreaming?" so I do a RC then that's it really. I do reccomend WBTB because it will help you more but I personally don't WBTB with music

      Do you do this often?
And has it been effective for you?

Im sure if you look around this forum, youll find plenty answers
in fact i remember a special mp3 that was posted by one of the members and meant to play throughout the night in order to help you get lucid.
one thing im sure of is that you can hear outside music/sounds in your sleep if its loud enough (though not too loud to wake you up)
there are mp3 out there on the web with human vocals instructing you to do a reality check/look around, etc etc..
i however just prefer falling asleep to ambient music, it relaxes me and if im lucky, a few lucids come my way.. i usually listen to them during a 'WBTB' , works best near REM
      cheers,
      sam
The idea is to remain in a constant state of departure while always arriving..

I try and do it every night but some nights I just like to lay in silence. (Like last night.)
Every time I use this certain CD its effective. Im not sure what the title of the CD is because my friend burned it onto a disk for me but I think its called Principles of Lust and its by Enigma.

I sleep with music playing (to mute audio hallucinations, they freak me out of the WILD attempt), and the music does not transfer to my dreams. My radio plays softly all night, it helps me become fully conscious when waking between dreams, helping me recall them.

I had a successful WILD (or FILD, I'm never sure) where I woke up in my bed, wondered whether or not I'd succeeded, did a RC and found I was dreaming as I suspected. There was no music, though I *knew for a fact* that music was playing IRL.

This is something i did once. I played a song on my Ipod., Which was: and it transported into my dreams and i even drem't of dragons with that music. Your mind can convert music into scenes almost.
