Pretty much every technique demands you keep with it for a longer period of time. If you ask any of the people with high lucid counts that aren't natural LDers, they will tell you it takes practice and you cant give up. |

I've been trying to have LDs now for about a month all with little success. I normally use the DILD method but I always end up forgetting that I need to realize I'm in a dream. I've tried the WILD method a couple of times including just now. I have been laying here for well over half an hour in sleep paralysis and keeping my mind conscious. This only results in me getting bored because it normally takes me no longer than ten minutes to fall asleep. Can anybody help me? Like I said I'm getting tired of trying. |

try DEILD it's more direct and is pretty easy. Search for some guides lol |

Don't worry, my initial hype didn't get me a lucid straight away either. It took me over a month to have a noteworthy LD. And as you can see, even after a little over a year joining this site, I still haven't had that many. |

I've been trying a few years(2 years before I came here but I didn't know as much) and I'm still looking for that first one. I reason I believe this to happen to be is I quit far too quickly. You need to keep at it and you'll get it eventually. |
|
Thanks everybody, I will keep at it. It just so happens that I tried eating cheese last night because I saw it in a thread somewhere and it must have worked. I can't remember if I knew I was dreaming or not but I remember being in control of a few things. Would this be classed as lucid or semi-lucid? |
|
Lucidity basically means being aware that its a dream... In non-lucids you can still exercise a certain amount of controll. but for it to count as lucid you must be aware you are dreaming. If you were, then congrats! |
|
Hmmm Don't think I was lucid then in that case, oh well I know what I'm doing now |
|
Just means you should RC when you see long black hair, for now. Which will be annoying. |
|
Yeah especially if I keep seeing people with black hair lol it would be a long day. Don't people give you funny looks doing these RC's in broad daylight? |
|
Well for one you could style it out - rub your nose a little then hastily plug it and try to breathe. Or maybe rub your hands together a lil then sneakily try to poke a finger through? =P I've done lots of styling it out in regards to reality checks when I'm out in public or with my friends that haven't really heard about LD'ing yet. |
|
Good ideas, I will certainly have to try these |

The best pieces of advice I got on lucid dreaming come from Naiya and I forgot the other person... dang... |

Exactly. Don't quit. My friend has been trying for about 4 months and still has nothing in return. But she isn't giving up! It has taken me over a year to get where I am. Keep going and you will get as good as me, and other amazing lucid dreamers on this forum. Keep at it. |

I was always a dreamer, in childhood especially. People thought I was a little strange.-Charley pride
Trying to WILD as the first thing you do when you go to sleep is like begging for trouble. You will rarely succeed. Most WILD methods also require you to perform a lot of relaxation techniques, which are often derived from traditional spiritual practices, but these in reality are mostly waste of time. Relaxation techniques, if performed unsccessfully, typically result in more anxieties and tension. Even if correctly executed, they do not put your mind/body into the correct state demanded by phase entrance either. Please realize this -- meditations are NOT the same as WILD! |

1. Frequent RCs |

Perhaps you should take a rest from trying. You may be to low on energy to lucid dream and trying so hard with all the conscious effort is wearing you out. Maybe take a break. Then pick up on techniques again. Wake up back to bed normally is the easiest way to have a lucid dream. Just make sure your tired enough to fall back to sleep. Don't over think it. |
