      marijuanna

does marijuanna have a negative affect on one's ability to become lucid? i've gotten mixed answers about this. i often hear drugs cloud the mind, but in many cases drugs are able to clear the mind as well. any time i've experimented with dreams and marijuanna i have noticed being more focused and relaxed, but have never been able to attain lucidity and often have trouble with dream recall. i know of drugs that aid in lucid dreaming, but is marijuanna one of them?

hmmm..i've never tried that...but i've smoked cigarettes, ordinary ones, and i don't find they help lucidity at all. somehow they make me sleepy...if i take them, i find them a relaxant, rather than a stimulant..i find it messes with my recall too...

it might help, for some people, but not for me, i was a regular bud smoker and i remember i could NEVER remember my dreams if i smoke and sleep (which was every night) but i quit recently and my dream recall is really good now i can member 3-4 dreams a night vividly

i definitely find that the consumption of any form of alchohol or substance greatly decreases my recall, as does being too tired!

      MARA-JA-WANNA is Bad ummmmmmm K.

I was an avid (and i mean AVID) smoker of weed for about 1 year (while a student)

I have reached the conclusion that its detrimental to the effects of lucidity and dream recall. It might be extremely helpful for you to have more vivid and exciting lucid dreams, but if you cant remember them in the morning what’s the point?

My lucidity has greatly increased since I gave up weed in January.

There are some interesting posts on this subject if you 'search' the old posts. Its funny how often this post comes around (every few months).

I find Alcohol strangely helpful in the recall of dreams. When I wake up I usually wake up earlier than usual, so I go back to sleep for a few more hours and have more REM than i usually would without drinking.

Alcohol seems to have no effect on my dreaming, neither positive nor negative.

hey thanks for the feedback. i always get mixed results with my dreams after smoking. usually the dreams i remember are pretty damn weird and confusing, but never very vivid.

on a side note, everytime i try to WILD after smoking i always think that im going to become lucid (it must be the visuals) but i never do. i think i'll shy away from the buds before bed for a while, they must be messing with my head.

My cousin says whenever he smoke it, it makes him sleepy, and he has really fucked up dreams, so..I imagine it helps dream recall..or doesn't affect it at all. of course, I don't have any first hand expierence, so I'll shutup now.
      You guys suck.

I find when i smoke pot it helps me a lot to remember my dreams. This weeked i smoked pot on friday, saturday and sunday and all days i had dreams and remembered them!

So i think it helps me SOMETIMES but not all the time.

My advice is to quit smoking as soon as posible-
It will take a lot of time after a smoke- to Ld and have realy good dream recall- I think is definetly not good for a dreamer to use this kind of substances - Anyway, why smoking that shit when you can have a much more good and vast experience while you are LD?
      this is beyond experience

I smoke weed every day and Lucid Dream pretty much everyday. I smoked a bunch before going to bed last might and had 5 LD's this morning with two W.I.L.D.'s. (I did sleep for 11 hours because I have the day off) Now in the past when I was a beginner Ld'er I thought it made it really bad for dream recall which I still believe to be true (though I will always remember the dream I just woke up from). When I first started ld'ing I had quit smoking and my dream recall was great. After awhile I started smoking again and my dream recall went out the door. I think it's becuase I've been ld'ing for years and smoking for years that I'm able to LD whether I smoke or not. I know that if I quit even just for awhile I feel like I become a genius as in I have great memory and can think so much clearer. Plus I can remember dreams with great detail though I can do that now but with a little more work in the morning remembering. When I don't smoke the dream images will just come flooding into my mind with very little effort.
