      Tried dream journaling... It's super-effective!

I have a (paper) dream journal, but I'd usually only write in it when my dreams were really vivid or interesting.

Yesterday, I resolved to write mine down no matter what, even if I could only write down a few words. My lucid dreams had been so few and far between, and I just got sick of all the dry spells.

Last night I was so determined to write my dreams down, when I fell asleep and my dream switched scenes, I tried to write my dream down within my dream. My dream switched scenes several more times, and I had several false awakenings in which I tried to recall my dreams... and it happened so many times, I tried a reality check and BAM! Lucid.

Makes me wish I had started seriously journaling sooner. ^^

Awesome! Many dreamers don't understand that dream journaling all by itself can spark lucid dreams. Just like it happened in your case. Its not just for dream recall and getting dream signs. The idea of keeping a dream journal keeps your mind on dreaming and can lead to lucidity all on its own. Nice job!

Congrats! Dream journaling is definitely one of the best things you can do for lucid dreaming!
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

I've got a Dream Journal app on my ipod, comes with a passcode lock and multiple dream entries/ titles, bookmarking important dreams and other features. It's pretty nice cause im usually too lazy to actually turn on the light and write it down on paper.

Congratulations on your first lucid, I guess it's some inspiration to start taking this seriously.

Is the app free? I have an iPhone and I just write my dream journals in the notes section. Its a complete mess and I was thinking of trying pen and paper but seeing how there is an app I might give it a go.

It sounds like you were so focused on dream journaling, you had a whole night of dreams about journaling.
