      How long?...

ok, so i was just wondering, how long did it take you to have your first fully lucid dream, or even semi, after you started really trying?. i was just wondering what i should expect as i have been trying for a few months now on and off, and the only positive results I've gotten are a greatly enhanced dream recall and a dream i mistook for real life and woke up to find it was a dream.

      so yeah, how long

Took me ten days from signing up to this site to have my first lucid. (Had a few before this site though) Practice your techniques every night if you can then take a few nights off from them and just relax because its going to happen the desire for it to happen is there. However once u learn and practice your techniques faithfully its very very very important to let it all sink in by taking a break , so that dream lucidity can start to come naturally to you. namaste

I took me... 79 days to have a semi lucid. I only had one lucid when I was 6 or 7, I'm 17 now, so I don't really count it. That was only a week ago though, and my confidence is still high.

However it is bad to watch everyone else and how they are doing. It can only lead to frustration if that person just so happens to be having more luck than you, and you don't really gain much if you are the first. It's nice to inquire about it, but don't grade yourself on it.

well I got them all the time before coming here in 2006 but they became much more frequent once I started coming here and learning some techniques and writing in a DJ.
i think it was 6 days.

No I made a new account because I realized I used the same username for everything, including my email, which means anybody could trace my online history.

3-4 days but the dream was very short.

I was on a break from LDing and now I am back

I should note that taking a break helps a lot if you can’t LD for sometime.

It took me 3 days from joining DV to have my first LD. It wasn't too long, but I got to fly around for a bit, and i was pretty conscious. It was good.
though I had LDs though before joining DV without trying.

My first was around 2 weeks after I joined. It was only a couple seconds long, though.

People seem to be having them within weeks of learning about LDs... I'm 80 days into it and still nothing.

But I don't mind/care. They say their lucids only lasted a few seconds or a short while. My first one on here is going to be full length, worth the wait.

It's a trick I put up, so I can more easily convince myself that I am great at lucid dreaming, so I have an easier time having one.

18 days to be precise. It's just different for everyone. You shouldn't be discouraged if you read that it took some people months or if it took some days and it's taking you longer. Erible is right, stay confident .

As I'm sure Caretaker can attest to, after finally getting the elusive first lucid, all the others seem like an easier task now.

      Hmm.. Maybe about a week.
I reckon in the first few weeks you should just dig into all the info about Lucid Dreaming on DV.
It really does help. Just find out as much as you can, and let it flow through your mind.
