DEILD Questions
Hello everybody! I am sorta a newbie, but I have done some research and I found a technique that I really think looks great. The DEILD ( Dream Exit Initiated Lucid Dream ) looks very promising but I have a few questions about it.
1. How should I wake up after each dream with auto-suggestion?
2. I heard people being able to open their eyes but if they close them in time they can still succeed. Is this true/possible?
3. Is it safe to do on school days?
4. Is it hard for beginners?
5. How long are the dreams?
That's all the questions I have for now. Thanks for reading. Goodbye :cheeky:

P.S. I have never had a lucid dream (from what I can remember)

1. How should I wake up after each dream with auto-suggestion?
You could try telling yourself repeatedly as you try to sleep that you will wake up after every dream. I think it might be true that the brain wakes after every dream by default, so it might be more about catching these periods, which could also be done via auto-suggestion.
2. I heard people being able to open their eyes but if they close them in time they can still succeed. Is this true/possible?
It has been known, however most people like to safeguard their chances by avoiding this where possible.
3. Is it safe to do on school days?
I would think so, since the aim of DEILD is to go back to sleep quickly, so there's usually little need to worry about disruption.
4. Is it hard for beginners?
Depends, good dream recall is a must, because you want to remember your DEILDs, as well as catch those waking periods, you also might want a few weeks of dream journal, to help you recognise when you're drifting from the dream environment. It does take practice and mental discipline, but if you're willing to keep at it, I don't see why you couldn't give it a go.
5. How long are the dreams?
Once a person becomes experienced at DEILDs, it is possible to chain them by constantly re-entering upon waking. This potentially gives you hours of dream time, depending on your sleep cycle. As for a single lucid dream, it varies from person to person, but there are a few tutorials here which outline methods for prolonged LDs.
Hope that helped.
Good luck and kind regards
