      Question What Happened?

Hi, im confused about a lucid experiance that I had last night. It was probally my 2nd or 3rd lucid dream ever and I want some clarification. I went to bed at around 930 and woke up at 6. I got up for awhile but after decieding to go back to bed I thought this would be a perfect time to WILD. I layed there motionless on my side for a while, trying to remember my anchor (a fan) and next thing i knew i was standing next to my bed in a lucid dream. I don't remember anything before this happened but i also dont remember sleep paralasis or switching into the dream world either. Was this a DILD or a WILD?

I'm guessing it was a DILD. Usually you can remember what happens during a WILD, whereas in a DILD, you just suddenly end up in the current situation and become lucid. There's a possibility that because you were trying to WILD and fell asleep, you were so focused on LDing that you had a false awakening.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Okay, thank you. I wasn't sure because I knew that when you have a WILD you normally feel sleep paralysis and see things but all I had remembered was being in the dream. Sadly the dream died away extremely quickly.

Regardless of what you call it you obviously fell asleep during the WILD attempt, which isn't that uncommon. So I would credit the dream to the WILD attempt. It is fairly common to drift off during a wild and then regain some consciousness just before the dream or just after entering the dream.

It was a WILD... you entered directly into LD after waking. DILD is recognizing your dream state while in a dream. Congrats!

Thank you for the help everyone. If this was a WILD that means it was my first and im pretty excited about it! Unfortunatlly I fell asleep last night when trying to do it again
