      Quick questions about dream journaling

I understand most people keep a notebook by their bed to write in their DJ so they can write as soon as they wake up. I have a few questions.
1.) Is it acceptable to get out of bed and go to the computer to do it instead? Or will this kick me out of dream mode too fast?
2.) Do I need to DJ if I wake up in the middle of the night?
3.) Am I supposed to read my DJ regularly?

      Thanks.

      1) it is acceptable to get out of bed and record your dj on a computer, lots of people do it. I even read about people writing them in their phones as text files too.
      2) I recommend that you write in your dj in the middle of the night, after a nap, in school, or every chance you get lol.
      3) You necessarily do not have to, but it could help your waking mind get use to the dreaming mind and learn to tell the difference. Or you could read through them to find your dream signs

Thanks. Guess I'm just going to have to get used to DJing in the middle of the night. It's so inconvenient because my monitor is so bright so it makes it hard to get back to sleep. But whatever I have to do to LD.

And if you could take a look at my thread called "problems" I'd appreciate it.

Why don't you want to write in a journal? I think having a hard copy is better than soft copies. In case of viruses or siblings who do not know how to work a computer lol. I set the back light to my cell phone at 10 minutes, so if I wake early I can use the phone as light. Its just enough and not to much to fully awaken me.

Because i generally dislike writing in non-computer form. It just seems so inconvenient. I feel like if i do it it'll take forever, way longer than if i did it with a keyboard.

Yes, yes and yes. You might want to lay in bed and go over your dreams in your head for a moment if going to the computer makes it harder to remember them.

When you wake up in the middle of the night you can just scribble a few words that will make you remember the dream later if you don't want to get up and go to the computer and wake yourself up all the way. Or use a voice-recorder.
157 is a prime number. The next prime is 163 and the previous prime is 151, which with 157 form a sexy prime triplet. Taking the arithmetic mean of those primes yields 157, thus it is a balanced prime.

Wow, didn't even think of the voice recorder thing. Officially gonna do that from now on. But I should also keep writing, right?

I have used the recorder approach myself. So much easier than writing. You don't have to get out of bed, and you don't even have to open your eyes. You should record your dreams each time you wake up, but it's okay if you don't do it every time. People often don't even remember the first few dreams they have at night. After all, most people wake up like 5 times a night, but most don't remember that. The simple truth about dream journals however, is the more you use them the more you remember. So more is always better, assuming you are not losing to much sleep over it.
