technique for raising mindfulness in the dream state

just a little notion that crossed my mind this morning.
I woke up, and as per usual of the last few days - my room was freezing, I woke up and fell back asleep a couple times suffering through the cold every time, not thinking enough to just get up and grab a shirt to throw on. this is partly due to laziness.

in this hazy morning state I've decided to work on using more complex, advanced thought. as soon as I wake up, just stay in bed and think but try to stay tuned into the early morning groggy sleep-hazed state of mind.

I feel like this will work for me in getting me used to engaging that part of my brain used for logical thinking while in zonked out states.

I know exactly what your talking about when you say "zonked out"... I actually posted a thread about it

... I usually can stay in that state of mind when there is nobody home and it is quiet, but when it's loud and hectic, I fall out of it as fast as I fell into it.
