      Anything I missed?

      Right now I am:

      1. Doing reality checks with digital clock every day, stopping whatever I do and looking around asking myself "am I dreaming" and checking if clock stays on time.

      2. Keeping a dream journal, I remember at least 1 dream every night (most of the time) and write pretty much every dream down I get.

      3. I spend many hours a day on this forum reading lucid experiences mostly. Also made an account over here and made some posts (do'h).

      4. Have tried WILD and MILD techniques a couple of times, so far no luck but I keep trying I guess.

(5.) I have dreamed a couple of times about lucid dreaming and questioned situation in dreams a couple of times aswell, without doing reality check though. I never have any control. :S

So... anything I missed that would help to get lucid dreams? (Apart from lucid dreaming devices or some B6 stuff). Also, I personally think I am close to get lucid but what do you guys think?

Edit: Adding: my recall has improved very much and lately my dreams have been more "realistic" you could say.
Edit 2: As for how motivated I am, I feel more like needing to get lucid dream rather than simply wanting it.

You seem to have the basics covered and you seem to be making progress. A couple things you might mix in if you haven't already:

      - Reread your dream journal every now and then, looking for patterns, dreamsigns, and inspiration.
      - Think of and write down some lucid tasks you'd like to accomplish to help focus your motivation.
I am sure about illusion. I am not so sure about reality.

Yeah, I forgot to mention those... I have a couple of tasks in my mind, what I do in my first lucid dream, advanced tasks etc, I have a couple... also I seem to have lots of dream signs: black wolf, dark places, my old school, home... to name a few.
I guess I am set then!

First off I have only had one LD, and it was like 30 seconds, and by accident, but I am sure I will get it to work extremely soon, so I might suggest doing what I do (I don't know what you do for WILD, hopefully it's something different as this seems to work very well for me) Focus on your breathing, I just say in my head "In, out, in, out" with deep breathes, and then by focusing intensely, I can usually almost get to the dream, but so far I havent known what to do after that but I figure I just need to let myself fall asleep without over thinking, and it will work. So yeah focus on breathing has seemed to work wonders for me, seeings as I could never even get close before
      Good luck!

Thanks! I have myself just woke up after sleeping for 5 hours, stayed up for 15 minutes and then going back to bed, focusing to the back of my eyelids so that I would see hypnagogic imagery. Hasn't worked for me though. Maybe I try that technique of yours!

Alright I will. I presume that you are doing the WILD at night after waking up. I post results here tomorrow, I try it out tonight.

Yeah, I would say you are on the path to lucid dreaming soon. Try to not stress over it too much, have confidence. Another thing that can help you is meditation, it will increase your awareness so that you can easily tell you are dreaming in a dream.

Well, I can't get my alarm to wake me up, so the best results I've been having are when I go to bed right away... though I believe if I wake up in the night and a few variables are changed (Not being too awake etc) it will work quite well

Well... I tried it at night after waking up, after sleeping 5 hours, stayed awake for quarter hour and went back to sleep, focusing to my breathing, saying in my head "in, out" and so on... interesting results. I had my most realistic, vivid, and longest(I think) dream, and it started with me instantly realising that it is a dream, I even did stuff what I have planned to do in my first LD, but... I don't think it was lucid!

I woke up at 8:00am and noticed that I could still sleep, so went back to sleep almost instantly and... to same dream. And still no lucid. :S

I try this out again tonight after alarm wakes me up. Interesting results indeed...

Edit: I just fell asleep at some point while just focusing to my breathing.

Yeah, I haven't tried meditation yet... I think I start doing that once a day. Thanks!

Whoa super cool Weird that it wasn't Lucid I haven't been able to fall asleep using it yet, but quite often I fall asleep for a moment, then am brought back with a sensation of some kind But that's pretty awesome. Was you thinking it was a dream, maybe part of the dream? Like when you know that in the dream its a movie, or video game etc

If I understood the question: Well nah, it was basically that I was in my room and instantly somehow noticed that it was a dream, not that I was watching a movie or anything, but being inside a dream. Then I instantly went around exploring places and tried to fly, failed though. Wasn't lucid.

I guess it was just a very vivid, realistic, long dream about lucid dreaming. I try this breathing technique tonight again, posting results tomorrow.

P.S. Still... the dream was somehow different from other dreams I have had, but... I can't put my finger on it.

I meant like, you know how in a dream, if the dream is a 'movie' dream, you know its a movie or in the dream you were watching a movie, or a video game dream etc. It sounds like a 'dream' dream
That's cool it was vivid good luck with it tonight, I will be trying it as well

Well, no, it wasn't like that, I think.

Failed to keep my focus on my breathing this night. Oh well, woke up at least 10 times and had loads of fragments of dreams. I think I am going to go with MILD and DEILD techniques for some time, I have school...

oh I see and good idea, last night is the first time I made it to a dream, while trying to become lucid, but I wasn't aware so whatever
      What exactly is a DEILD?

      From the Tutorial section:

"DEILD stands for Dream Exit Initiated Lucid Dream. DEILD is also sometimes called "Dream Chaining." A DEILD is basically a shortened WILD. DEILD has the potential to let you have multiple lucid dreams each night. This technique takes advantage of the fact that as you awaken from a dream the brain remains in dream mode for a few moments, provided you don't move. Since your brain is still using REM waves, you can easily slip back into a dream without having to trick your body into falling asleep. However, if you are at the end of a REM phase you won't be able to DEILD. If you do this technique right you are almost guaranteed a successful LD."

Edit 2: Forget this bobtoeback --> But yeah, this topic has been going a bit... out of topic so maybe we PM each other instead of this?

Haha, you are definitely on the right track to lucid dreaming! And this talk doesn't matter haha, no worries here xP Another thing to help with your waking reality checks, after you ask yourself if you're dreaming and check your surrondings and all, think about what i'd be like if you were dreaming, and what you'd do right now. Also, you should check out puffin's guide on general awareness for DILDs. That's one of the most important things. Just really questioning yourself about what you're doing, why you're doing it, how did you get here, are you wearing the same clothes as when you got dressed. Good luck on your journey! =D
