      Auto suggestion for DEILD?

Hello DV. I was wandering what a good mantra for DEILD would be. Every night I listen to a recording of myself saying "I will wake up after every dream, and remember my dream. And sure enough, I wake up after most of my dreams, remember them, and write them in my DJ. To me it seems stupid that DEILD is not more popular than it is. If done right, it's a guaranteed lucid. Anyways, I was wandering what I good mantra would be for DEILD, maybe "I will wake up after every dream, remain still and keep my eyes closed?"

It's amazing you can wake up after every dream by telling yourself that. But don't you get tired in the day?
I assume saying "I will wake up after every dream, remain still and keep my eyes closed" would work.
Or just saying ''I will DEILD'' may do the trick. (But I wouldn't really know).

Nah it doesn't really effect me the next day, I only write down a few notes in my journal and the next morning I can remember the entire dream with full detail and clarity, Ive always had good recall for some reason, but I suck at getting lucid, nothing at all seems to work

Me too really. I remember my dreams almost every night, but only one did I wake myself up in the middle of a dream. I'm trying to do that again.

If you learn how to DEILD you can have lucids every single night. It's a simple technique to.

I would use "When i wake up i will not move or open my eyes"

I was always a dreamer, in childhood especially. People thought I was a little strange.-Charley pride

sounds like a good one to me, will give it a try tonight .

Also, do you have any idea why the DEILD is so unpopular? It is a guaranteed lucid if done correctly, and learning to not move upon awakening from a dream only takes a few days, then you got it down pat, then your on your way to having tons of lucids a night... it just makes no sense to me why it is not the most popular technique.

And I'm looking to learn/master this technique cuz DILDS and MILDS just dont work for me, and I always fail at WILDS, but DEILD is easy and reliable. Nothing personal but I see you have had around 10 LD's. To teach a class on a subject or technique, don't you have to have it mastered?

It's been widely documented that affirmations should always be stated positively. For example, if someone wants to stop smoking, they shouldn't use affirmations such as, "I will not smoke" because such an affirmation automatically makes you visualise yourself smoking. My favourite affirmation for when I've tried to DEILD is based on words from Stephen LaBerge himself and sums up nicely exactly what you should do: "Play dead."
My LDing record, if you want to hear about it, is about 4 WILDs, 1 DEILD, and the rest DILDs.

Haha, that's very true Bobblehat, preforming a DEILD is like playing dead. But what mantra should I use for DEILD?

Well if you must say it positively. Not saying: "When i wake up i will not move or open my eyes", instead say ''when I wake up I will keep my eyes closed''.
That way it forces you to imagine your eyes staying closed rather than you (not) opening your eyes.

I too wonder why DEILD is not popular. To me it looked like the obvious choice. Ive gotten good at not moving after waking up, but only once have I managed to actually succeed. Other times, I would just wait...and wait...until I would assume it didnt work and go to sleep. Id join the DEILD class

What did you do to train yourself to awaken after a dream/stay still and not open your eyes? Did you use auto suggestion?
