The Astronomer's Reality Check
The night sky is a complex construct of various stars, planets, and other visible bodies. Anyone familiar with the layout of a specific region of the sky can employ the astronomer's reality check. Take a quick gaze at the night sky at a constellation or set of constellations in a dream and you are likely to see stars that are missing or added, out of place, disproportional, or oddly colored. For example, last night I looked at the constellation of Cassiopeia in a lucid dream and noticed that it looked unusually small and two of its constituent stars were a dark, blood red. This is not something that exists in reality. I gained lucidity and thus came up with this idea to share with the community. Happy stargazing and dreaming.
