Am I getting close and doing something wrong?
This morning I woke up early and had to go out for a job. Since it was a short one, and I was still tired, I thought it might be a good time to play around with a few lucid dreaming techniques, so here's what happened:
I do a bit of meditation, then lie down and try some WILD. Well, I can never do this, and I fall asleep. But, and this happens every time, I wake up about 10-20 minutes later, realise I failed, think, "Nuts to this, I'll just sleep", roll over, and go back to sleep.
That's not the end of it though.
Sometime later, probably not long, after falling asleep I think, I am awareness experiencing the fabled vibrations and ringing. It's really intense and always feels like I am about to shake apart and I think I do this thing where I feel like I'm trying to force it out so I can survive it.
Next thing, after that is over, it seems like a few minutes later, I am in a dream. It's not lucid at all, I don't think.
Later on in the dream (in today's example) there was this lady that was hitting on me, and to start with I was saying, "I can't do this I have a girlfriend and she has a husband." Then I was saying (but I didn't have control over this, it was like part of the dream), "Wait a minute, I've been in this house, and these aren't the people that live here, so I must be dreaming, so it's okay if this happens..."
Then there was some wild sex! Okay, but the thing is I wasn't actually lucid, I had no control or awareness here, even though my dreamself had recognised that this was a dream.
So I have a few questions relating to all this (remember, the last part doesn't usually happen, it was just today where I seemingly said I was dreaming).
1. Why do I always fall asleep for ten minutes when trying WILD, and then wake up?
2. For those familiar with the vibrations and stuff: does one consciously pass from waking to the vibrations? Because I seem to fall asleep, and then wake up to vibrations a few minutes later.
3. What am I supposed to do when I get these vibrations? Should I just relax and say something like, "I am about to enter a dream, I will take control of this dream." (Note, I'm not sure if I have actually awareness/control to perform actions like that when this happens.
4. I should have become lucid when I realised I was dreaming, but I didn't. Is this just an issue with not being dedicated enough to reality checks and things like that? (I often find in waking life that I am too passive with them).
Any other thoughts, comments, suggestions or help would be much appreciated thanks. :)
I think I understad him...
It is like dreaming that you know that you are dreaming... but not controlling. I read here about it before.
It is different when we really get lucid, when you say: "Wait a minute. This is a dream. Let me do a Reality Check: FTP (finger through palm) Ok. It is a dream, lets explere the place."
The other situation in fact we think we know we are dreming but It was a dream, not a LD.
