I guess everyone does. It's normal. And when that happends, that's when you're suppose to stay in that posstion to get into SP. No pain no gain, right. |

I'm normally a back/side sleeper, but when attempting to LD I try to sleep on my back. For about fifteen minutes everything seems to be going well, I'm focused on my mantra and visualization of a dream. But then I always have an urge to move, scratch, change position, etc. I try hard to ignore it and remain still, but after an hour of not falling asleep I tend to say "f**k it" and roll over and go to sleep, and I can never maintain a focus in any other position because I fall asleep quicker. Anyone have similar problems? |

MY BIGGEST OBSTACLE: falling asleep

This happens to me every time I try to WILD, that's why I don't do WILD's. I personally like DILD's a lot more. |

yeah, that's the roll signal your body sends to see if you're mine is awake. |

That roll signal thing is a total load of horsepoop and if you think about it logically it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. |
|
I think the actual act of staying still even with an urge to move is correct, but the "science" explaining it is dumb. |
|
I used to think the same but the other night I tried it and my hands started feeling all tingly and weird. I guess you just gotta keep trying and trying and one day it'll happen. I'd say try for a DILD but give WILDs a shot too on the off chance it ends up working. Couldn't hurt right? |
|
right, I actually had a DILD last night |

I haven't successfully WILD'd yet but when I try I do it by getting up about 5 hours after going to bed, getting a small drink, taking a piss, then laying in bed as still as I can for as long as I can keeping my mind preoccupied by thinking of random stuff. I always impatient out though and stop, I'll have to keep practicing. |
|
yeah, I tried again this morning |

This roll over signal thing hurts to read. In my opinion it makes no sense. I get uncomfortable in class when I have to sit in a chair for two hours. I want to get up so bad. I guess that's my body testing to see if I'm awake. -_- |

Lucid dreams, gotta love em.
I've changed my opinions since and agree with you xD |

Lol, it just bothers me to seem some people believe that. I'll admit, it does work for some people, lots of them have posted success stories. However, the people that fail at staying completely still and getting frustrated, need to realize that it's ok to move or swallow or scratch something. (Thats what she said). |

xD nice thats what she said. |

Nice. I think Robot_Butler does something similar. He relaxes on his back then switches to his side... Needless to say, he's really good at WILD. |

Whatever position I wake up in, lol. I DEILD, I'm not really into the traditional WILD. |

Lucid dreams, gotta love em.
Yeah I've sorta lost interest in the traditional WILD ever since I almost DEILD'd the other night. |
|
how can you DEILD? like is there anything special you do besides visualize? |

Honestly, it's hard to tell. The last time I did it, I remember seeing total darkness, and then all of a sudden I was in this laboratory full of other people, and I was fully lucid. I didn't force the dream, it just came up by itself. It's hard to tell you EXACTLY what happened. My recall sucks! |

Alright from what I gather, after a dream ends you wake up naturally but rarely notice it because it's quick and you're not very coherent during this time. After this point you'd naturally move into a new dream or go into a deep sleep until waking up for real. But, if you can train yourself to recognize this state in which you've somewhat awoken (you see the insides of your eyelids as they are closed and can somewhat feel that you are lying in bed), you have to not move and then try to visualize the last dream you just had (it will be fresh in your memory since your brain will still be in a dream-like state), you will then formulate the dream and reenter but be lucid this time. It sounds weird and hard but it's supposed to be almost the easiest way to LD after you get the hang of it. |
