      A quick WBTB tip

Hi, I have been lucid dreaming for awhile now and I rarely do WBTB, but I do a lot of reading about the brain and its functions and just thought of a small tip for people who use WBTB for lucid dreams.

I read about WBTB's and realized that most people will tell you to read about lucid dreaming, meditate, etc when you awake to do a WBTB, but no one mentions turning on the logic part of the brain.

The left hemisphere of the brain controls logic, and the logic part of the brain is very low in activity during sleep, so it would be ideal to awaken this part of the brain before going back to bed. The left part of the brain is active when you solve puzzles, do math, etc.

If you are having trouble lucid dreaming, (maybe even if you aren't using WBTB), do some puzzles before sleeping, especially math-related ones. Try sudoku, random math problems, puzzles that deal with numbers, or brainteasers before you go to sleep.

      Just a thought.

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

I'll give this a go tonight.
I don't usually think, therefore I mostly am not.

Makes sense, I'll try this tonight too. I usually read some dreaming related books or watch dream related/surreal movies when I do WBTB.

Some people also do some simple arithmetic when they first realise they are lucid.
My LDing record, if you want to hear about it, is about 4 WILDs, 1 DEILD, and the rest DILDs.

Lol, that's okay. It's not the same as what you posted about anyways.

This may be a stupid question, but wouldnt awakening the "logic portion", cause you to have, more logical, less bizzare dreams?
Making it harder to gain lucidity??

Although I do see the plus side to it as well, im just curious.

Thanks for the tip. I tried this but without WBTB, but when going to bed the first time. I just said things in my head like "2+2=4", just basic adding and subtracting. I ended up just having a dream where I was doing some math problem and I was getting annoyed because someone was trying to tell me that I was doing something wrong when I wasn't.

I guess it would have to depend on the dream, but if this were to work, then you would just hopefully notice something out of the ordinary more easily.

Yeah but if your logic side is awakened, you are more likely to use reasoning and logic in the dream and realize that it is in fact a dream.
