      Exclamation What the hell?

Well, i've been trying to lucid dream for probably a year and a half and have absolutly nothing to show for it. Hell i even quit smoking the holy herb and it made no difference in my dreams.

I write in my dream journal everyday but it doesn't help me to recognize i'm in a dream. Sure my recalls improved but it sometimes feels like i don't dream at all.

Also i've read, watched, listened to anything related to LD and still no effect in helping me ld.

So anyone have any advice on helping me get lucid? Or is just normal that it takes longer for someone to get lucid?

Don't bum yourself out man, you gotta stay positive! You can't think of being lucid as a hard state to achieve! Or else it WILL be hard to achieve!

What types of induction techniques have you been using?

Mostly MILDs, DEILD, affirmation but sometimes i try to WILD.

But when I set my alarm to WILD its usually not in accordance to when i feel asleep; usually it takes me an hour to two to actually get sleep. That makes me completely miss when I should have REM sleep.

How many dreamsigns you have listed and how many times a day you are doing reality check?

you don't have to quit smoking to have lucid dreams, bro. sometimes it's best to forget about lucid dreaming for a few days to a week... sometimes it then happens when you least expect it. putting pressure on yourself only makes it tougher. as long as you're doing WBTB's, and you're doing your best to maintain a focused state of awareness during the daytime, you should have success with at least a DILD. i don't care as much about the specific number of reality checks... instead, i try to stay as aware as i can at all times. just a slight change in thinking.

Well i never really kept track of my dreamsigns and i only RC when things feel odd or out of place.

As for awareness, i try to keep it to a minimal ; 'cuase sometimes i become too aware and i overthink things ya'know? Its just better for me socially if keep my self outta my head :p.

But i do, every few hours, try to recall every detail as to what happened in my day and how i got to where i am. Apparently that helps lding by transfering that habit into my dreams.

Hope that makes sense , cause i took your advice and i'm absolutely zooted

Don't stress! As I'm sure you've read, stress is anti-LD material. Try not to worry that it is not happening (though I totally understand your frustration). If it has been that long, then surely it is worth changing some of your patterns, maybe trying RCs at certain specific times in the day or actually keeping track of dreamsigns.

With your dream journal, you should be able to identify few dreamsigns...
You are writing your dreams for a year and a half now.
By doing RC when a dreamsign occur, sooner or later you gonna be able to LD more.
