Tell me about the gaming industry

I am planning the next few years of my life as my second course in college is approaching.
After I have finished this two year course I will have the opportunity to take a foundation degree course in games technologies. Foundation degree counts as two years towards my final honors degree.
So if all goes to plan I could end up having a full honors degree in gaming.

However, this is not my only option. I can also go down the internet, system, business technologies route. Gaming appeals to me more.

I was wondering if any of you have any experience with the gaming industry. What sort of job opportunities could it give me? Is it worth the effort? Should I consider something else?

It is best to mention that I am living in the UK. But if a decent job requires me to cross the pond then I will consider.

We have two Native American casinos in Connecticut.

One is the Mashantucket-Pequots Foxwoods Casino, which is the largest casino in the world, at:

      HTML Code:
      www.foxwoods.com
The other is the Mohegans Mohegan Sun Casino at:

      HTML Code:
      www.mohegansun.com
Both have career information on their sites. I don't gamble, personally, except nickle or quarter slots on occasion when I get there too early, but I sometimes go to the shows at the casinos, as they do have some good stuff at times, like I've seen Celtic Woman and Bob Dylan, and magician David Copperfield, and even a taping of a figure skating special for tv.

Connecticut is beautiful too, much like England, actually.

You merely have to change your point of view slightly, and then that glass will sparkle when it reflects the light.
