I've been experimenting with using fragrance as a tool for relaxation.
I thought about what I wanted, by means of a necklace, for a very long time. Finally, I bought a locket that has a decorated opening which is cut through to the inside of the locket. Then I bought a simple rope chain and attached the two. Then I put potpori (sp!) oil on piece of a cottonball and close it inside the locket. Whenever I become tense or anxious, I just smell the locket without having to worry about opening it.
The problem is, the fragrance doesn't last long before getting mingled with the coppery/metalic smell of the locket.
Now I'm using piece of a makeup wedge (a foam like material) that's been saturated in fragrant lotion. But I think I'm going to run into the same problem.
The necklace itself isn't very attractive either, so I'd love to find a way to spruce it up.
My original intention was to make a bracelet using the same basic idea, but I couldn't find a way to pull it off.
Any jewelry makers out there who can give me some pointers?
