      Tell me about buying longboards

      I rode my friends longboard and it was a lot of fun.
      Now I really want to buy one.
      Does anybody know what I should be looking for when I buy one?
      I want a long one (as opposed to the short longboards) that is nice and safe for a beginner.
      His was a Loaded pintail longboard, which I loved, but it is expensive
      and since it's the only one I have ever ridden,
      I'm not sure if it is any better than the other boards.

      from what i know of, longboards are discouraged by "real" skateboarders, who often call them, i quote, "ghey".

      BULLSHIT. I skateboard, and I don't own a longboard, but they are SOOOO fun. Anyone who's ever bombed a hill on a longboard knows what I'm talking about. They are so smooth. You get going really fast.

      But the skateboarding scene seems to be going kind of downhill(no pun intended) at the moment.
      157 is a prime number. The next prime is 163 and the previous prime is 151, which with 157 form a sexy prime triplet. Taking the arithmetic mean of those primes yields 157, thus it is a balanced prime.

      Well I've been skateboarding for a few years, and yes, longboarding is pretty ghey.

      But if you must, I'll give you the perfect setup. It'll be pretty expensive, but it'll also be the slickest, fastest beast around.

      -Sector 9 75mm Wheels.
      -Sector 9 Sunset Bamboo board(deck)
      -Bones Ceramics Bearings
      -Venture Trucks(Any of the longboard kind.)
      -Sector 9 Risers
      -Sector 9 Hardware set.

      Sector 9 is the best

      Eppy, if you care about fitting into stereotypes and being accepted by the conformists *ahem* "real skateboarders" who care more about image than the sport, then don't get a longboard

      if you want something that would be fun to ride, then get a longboard. They're awesome!

      just be careful on those things, I've seen people get pretty hurt crashing those... and I mean hurt... like, in-the-hospital-in-a-coma-for-3-months-with-brain-swelling hurt.
