Question The measure of a wo/man

Tell me, what (in your unbiased opinion) does it mean to be a man and what it means to be a woman. Irregardless of your gender, try and answer the question for both.

      A) What does "being a real man" mean to you?

      1) What does "being a real woman" mean to you?

genitals, i think play a large part in this...
but simply declaring yourself as one or the other is a fine as well.
of course, with the modern surgical treatments, i think the line can easily be crossed.

      imo, gender is subjective.

Yeah I'm of the opinion that statements like "a real man" and "a real woman" belong in the past and should be forgotten if we're ever to get rid of sexism.

So I wouldn't really know how to answer the question.

Fair enough. Then answer it disregarding the word "real".

To me I guess if you think you are a man, then you are a man. If you think you are a woman, then you are a woman. I agree with no-name that genitals play an important part... I mean we have to make a distinction between the two at some point for some reasons.

But I just don't know. One of my favorite students is a 13 year old boy, and he desperately wants to be a girl, and everyone's telling him it's just a phase.. and I'm really worried about him. My poor baby.

Sexism will always exist as long as there are differences between males and females.

The two genders simply have different roles in society.

      Hi Mes!

      1) Being a real man to me just means to keep your promises, make hard sacrifices for those you care about, and stand up for yourself/the latter.

      2) Bring a real woman just means to love, care, and be honest. and dishes, jk

Hey guys, I'm back. Feels good man

Oh please. You won't see men caring for children nearly as much as women. There are behavioral changes brought about by evolution - and the physical differences - and societal expectations.

As a human one has self-determination. One does not need to conform to the expectations of one's gender, and it is better if one does not. But people do.

      A) To me, being a real man, means taking responsibility for your actions instead of delegating excuses left and right. It means fulfilling your obligations and responsibilites whatever they may be. It means taking care of your family through any means. It means passing down a tad bit more knowledge, wisdom, and opportunities to your children than you had. Showing your spouse that you provide, protect her, and love her no matter what the situation may be (unless infidelilty on her part comes into play).

      1) To me, being a real woman is about being strong. Being independent. Being able to not rely on compliments of beauty to get her moving around in this world but to really branch out of that shell she was born into and see past the makeup, hair styles etc. Being able to stand up for herself in situations without being pushed down by what others are saying about her or thinking about her. In essence, I think that's what it means to be a real woman, I'll probably add to it later.
