As long as you respect the leprechaun, he will respect you. If you do not respect the leprechaun.... I will not speak of the consequences.
And of course they wear green!

I can easily imagine someone doing that as a joke, but I'm not sure if someone actually did that. The Blarney stone is meant to give you the gift of gab, all other 'gifts' is just something extra for you to enjoy . I'm sorry that you got a cold from visiting us here in Ireland!

Guinness is the most popular, obviously. (They even have a museum dedicated to it!). But there some other types of beer. As Replicon pointed out, there is Murphy's, and there is also Beamish. And there is some red ales. As to how they taste, I don't have a clue. I only ever tasted guinness.

This depends on who you ask.
First of all, the IRA are usually split into three groups: The old IRA, the provisional IRA, and the real IRA. The old IRA were the people that fought Britain in the war of independence, so many people today regard them as Irish heroes of the 20th century. Michael Collins and Eamon De Valera, the two men that had the most influence in Irish history and politics in the 20th century were members and leaders of this organisation. The old IRA helped Ireland get our independence from Britain so most people hold them in high regard down here in the republic of Ireland.
The Provisional and Real IRA only really exist in Northern Ireland (the part of Ireland that is still a part of Britain). Many Catholics/Nationalists were treated badly by some Unionists (those that believe N. Ireland should remain part of Britain). The provisional IRA was set up in response to this bad treatment. The time when the provisional IRA was in full swing was called 'The Troubles (1970'S - 1990's roughly). The Provisional IRA hoped that by bombing Britain and Northern Ireland, the British government would give up Northern Ireland. While the provisional IRA were nothing other than terrorists in the eyes of many, others credit them with bringing the discrimination against Catholics in N. Ireland to the media's attention, and finally stopping that said discrimination.
The real IRA however, are the small group of the IRA that are still active today. Most people have nothing but contempt for them. While you could argue that the other IRA groups had some reason to use violence (this still doesn't excuse them for the lives they killed), the real IRA are really nothing other than common thugs trying to start civil war again.
This unrelated, but an interesting point to bring up is that IRB (the fore-runners to the IRA) was founded in New York, USA. People are generally surprised to find that out. They were Irish immigrants that had moved to the USA in the 1800's.
I'm sorry that I was so vague in my answer, but it really is such a huge topic in Irish history that it would take me pages to give a decent answer.
