      My Songs, in my voice

Please don't be too mean lol

This last one is whistled. It's a Celtic song I frequently have stuck in my head. Does anyone know what it's called? The octave is not quite true as I cannot whistle the notes as high as it would normally go and I'm pretty sure the tempo is faster than what it should be.
Lower your volume if you're brave enough to listen to it because it starts off on a high note lol

I'll post the lyrics to the others in a little while. I have to make a store run for hubby and start a load of laundry.
Can anyone point out areas that could be improved upon?
      Many thanks

Oh... and they're all religious in nature. They're songs I've written for myself for the most part; but one was written for a member of my congregation when he got baptized [the Baptism Song] and the other was written for my entire congregation after my hubby and I were married [True Friends].

The first link is titled "Baptism Song"

      (Song)

A door, a knock, an answer
      Is how it all began
Shall I fall and be like Eve
Or like the Son of Man
      A new found dedication,
A life no more for me,
With humble heart and zealous love
In Gods service I will always be

Love the Father and his Son
For they are just and true
And join the flocks of God in praise
In the family that Jehovah drew

      A little pool of water
      Into which I will step
And there be plunged into a death
      I never will regret

      This public declaration,
      Through baptism does speak
Of my earnest love for God
And the need to reach all of the meek

      Serve Jehovah, do his work
      Complete all Jah says do
And join the Sons of God in praise:
“Abba, Father we love you… love you.”

The Second one is titled Jehovah's Day

      Jehovah, our God
      Sovereign Ruler of this
      wondrous world
      Our Maker, in His wisdom
Has made a way for death
      to be no more.

      With Christ in
      his Kingdom today
      The end of our suff’ring
      is well under way
      For Satan and the demons
      shall perish in Jehovah’s day….

      The Third is titled SlavingForGod

      It’s wonderful slaving for God
Our Master and Maker we laud
Though weary and weakened we sing
In praise of our God and our King.

      (Chorus)
      God is grand
His wisdom spans both years and lands
      So wise
We must forever try to reach our prize.

We strive to reach one and teach all
Though Satan would have us to fall
We lift up our voices and sing
The meek ones to God we wil bring.

      (Chorus)
      So divine
How seeds grow forth in God’s ow time
      …………. ???? [lol]

      And the last is "TrueFriends"

      True friends are precious
      gifts from God
      Of this I know
      And through their tenderness
      and love
      God’s fruitage show

      [Chorus]

      Through work and play
      and every day
      We make our stand
      To serve Jehovah
      with our lives
      And hand in hand

      Yet more than friends
      Yes, Christian kin
      We’ve now become
      In unity with God above
      we’re now as one

      [Chorus]

      For seeds were sown,
      as gifts that root
      near waters deep
      Firm in the Truth
      and harvest work
      to Jah we keep

      [Chorus]

I listened to one and I thought it was pretty good, I am not religious so I don't really have much to say about the lyrics. I think getting a new microphone would help a lot.

      Thanks

Unfortunately, mikes don't want to work with my computer so I recorded it on a digital voice recorder then transfered it over.
But I'm VERY bashful about singing, which is why my volume was low

Well you shouldn't be, 'cause you have a nice singing voice (Lord knows it's better than mine could ever hope to be). I think you're a lot like my little sister in that regard... But I'm sure that if you can kick that bashfulness and project a little more, it'll sound even better.

EDIT: I must have listened to the same song about 3 times before I realized it was looping on my player. "Gee whiz, I thought that melody sounded familiar... "

The content of the song isn't particularly appealing to me, but your voice was great. It makes me think of a mother singing to her children.

      *blushes*
      Thanks you two

Did anyone brave the whistled melody? I am very curious what the song is. I have it in my head probably every single day for years on end

I just listened to the whistle song. It sounds familiar but I don't know where it is from.

Seems like the Celtic song may be from either Braveheart or Highlander.

Thanks for giving it a shot too!
I love whistling more than I do singing lol but it gets on so many peoples nerves that I don't do it as often anymore
I can whistle just about anything I hear in perfect key, but the one I recorded is difficult and starts off on a higher key than it should be because it's the only way I can keep the tune at a more or less proper scale (though the octaves are off) because the middle section becomes much too high for me to whistle lol (if any of that made the least amount of sense )

It's very "sad" but one reason I never got used to wearing lower dentures and I don't wear them to this day is because I cannot whistle at all wearing them. According to most people, I shouldn't even be able to whistle wearing the top dentures. THankfully, I don't have that problem. Whistling has been such a huge part of my life I couldn't bare giving it up.
