Photoshop has a few perspective adjusters but its still not.. everything it could be. You can defiantly create some very realistic effects in photoshop, just takes a lot of time and.. fine tuning I guess?
I figured with that pic you would just have an easier time building up. Gotta start somewhere 
You could try using a program like zbrush, and use your stock photo as an image plane, and just sculpt a basic 3d model to "wrap" around your arm that you could edit in photoshop later.. and it would have much more depth. All i can say is play around , you'll learn new things either way, no matter what program you use.
Oh, and hell yeah about the eyes , tbh I was really bored and ended up doing a whole bunch of manipulation to you and the room around you, but figured that wasnt really.. going to help in any way lol
