Thread: Goldney's Artwork

I'm gonna start posting some of the stuff I draw with artrage2 on here. Comments and criticisms very welcome.

A man I drew when I was messing around with the layers on artrage. The only drawback is that I can currently find no 'fill' tool. Slightly annoying but oh well.



Took me about 20 mins.

Just finished this one. Simialr to the one above but in a different style. I took about an hour or so. I never realised how hard drawing hands are when they're small; you just can't get the level of detail. I know he's kind of lop-sided. Comments welcome.

First one was interesting but a bit silly
Second one was... exactly what Artelis says. As was the 3rd.
the sunset one was really cool. Soo much better than the others

keep trying. if you've got a scanner then try doing some art on real paper and scanning it up.

lol dont worry, artelis is always like that, well.. at least from what ive known of him...

i bet you can do a lot better.. practice makes perfect eh? mabey i'll start my own drawing thread.. who knows? good job goldney! i'd love to see more drawings

Yeah, practice. That's what those pictures before were. They were my first attempts with a graphics tablet, so the next ones will be better. Hopefully.

Nah, it is pretty good.

Not too bad, goldney (especially since you're working through the learning curve of using a tablet). It took me some getting used to, too, and is still not as comfortable as drawing with a pencil and paper.

The second one (black and white pic of the guy with wings) isn't really all that bad. You should work on the detail around the torso area - maybe find a few pics online to use as references. If you are going for a completely cartoonish look, just find some cartoon pics that give examples of ab muscles, and start trying to copy some of the techniques. If you want your pics to look more realistic, look up pictures of real models (or just shirtless guys), find the way the muscle/bone definition is laid-out, and work them into your picture.

Also, think of what kind of detail you'd like to have in the wings (those are wings, right?). You're definitely going to have to fill all that empty space with.

And look up a few shading techniques. Proper shading is going to make your pics look so much better.

Keep practicing.

I know the man's right arm is wrong and his feet aren't quite right but I still like the rest of it.

Yeah, I like the eye. Anyways, even the first few that weren't exactly incredible pieces of art were better than what I could do. I like the background on the first though, and the sunset too.

Well that's only because I was using pen and paper not my graphics tablets like in the previous pictures.
