Ok me and CryoDragoon took an Enya song, translated it into german then I recorded it for a school project he's doing

sounds interesting in german heh, so I had to really soften the words so I don't sound like hitler (incidentally I left the elvish parts in elvish)

Sounds kinda neat. The great thing about other languages is that you could be singing about anything, and not many people would know. Anyway, seems kinda typical of your music, just using a piano and singing.

that's true, guess that's one reason opera was so appealing to me

I've recorded some stuff on guitar as well, there in this forum somewhere...and one on ukulele too I think so I'm not restricted to just piano and singing as it were

German is a hard language to make sound beautiful but after the tenth time listening to it I have to say you have done wonderfully. You have an incredible voice. I could listen to you sing all day, in any language.

I too could listen to your beautiful voice forever and ever.

I just bookmarked her site. Its fun to listen to her songs. I love hearing your son in the background. I haven't listened heard all the ones on your site yet but I love Belong with Tornado Joes Stings

I know........

I had to take some grammatical license to help it fit with the rhythm of the music, as well as giving it a bit more lyrical merit

"Eine Versprechung jetzt lebt in dir" just sounds better sung than
"Eine Versprechung jetzt in dir haben leben können haben wollen haben haben"

Actually it would just be "Ein Versprechen lebt jetzt in dir"

No I absolutely see where you're coming from; German is annoying in that sense. But most of it could easily be corrected without losing the rhythm or natural sound.

i asked my teacher to grade the song, next to my project...
we'll find out soon enough how good it was

i bet it'll be higher than my project... we were terrible

damn...wish I had you around then in the last throws of this project then, me and CryoDrag were clueless on some of it

he and I actually PMed back and forth on that line, I was deciding between

"Ein Versprechen lebt jetzt in dir"
"Ein Versprechen jetzt lebt in dir"
"Ein Versprechen in dir lebt jetzt"

I knew I wanted to end the phrase with the word "dir" because it's the least harsh sounding, so that eliminated the last one

The only reason I went with the 2nd one (I actually sang it that way even though I posted the lyrics in the grammatically correct way) is because I hated ending the phrase softly with the "jetzt in dir"...the parts in bold sounded harsher than "lebt in dir"...only slightly I know, but it was pissing me off everytime I listened to it heh.

Anyway, just out of curiousity, what would some of the other corrections could there have been without sacrificing the flow of the melody, if you don't mind?
