New Song: Tangled Arms
Hey everyone. Just thought I'd share a song I wrote today. It's called "Tangled Arms" and it's just me playing acoustic guitar and singing. I'll post the lyrics as well as i might not be entirely clear in the recording.
Song is found here.
[list]
if you step away, for a moment, from your mind
dont forget to stay in the moment, take your time
but if you lose your way, come and join me, i'll be right behind
to wipe those immitation raindrops swinging from the corners of your stormy eyes
because it rains enough in this city
you don't need to add your part
the clouds are drifting, waiting, to take the burden off your overactive heart
and all the rain in this city
will swallow up your mind and start
to form a forceful wave that'll wash away the puddles of your leaking heart
if you're looking down, lift your head and glance around
don't let it drop back down, till you notice what you've found
it's easier to sink back into the waters of your head
but courage comes to those who finally swim their way back up and dry it off again
because it rains enough in this city
you don't need to add your part
the clouds are drifting, waiting, to take the burden off your overactive heart
and all the rain in this city
will swallow up your mind and start
to piece the rest together, staring up to find that there is nothing left to do but open your tangled arms
your tangled arms

I wouldn't mind opinions or suggestions if you've got any.
Cheers,
Dylan

Great song! There's a microphone spike occasionally, what mic are you using?
I think that it would be cool to add a solo solo (bar progression, bar of solo, repeat) where you have like 4 measures of that movement you do, like in Sultans of Swing (the solo is sort of the chorus).
I give it 10 smilies!
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Thanks.
Yeah, I need to add some guitar solo stuff on top of it. And I know it's not the best recording. I sang REALLY close to the mic because if i sang further back you could barely hear my voice... So whatever. maybe I'll record it another time

Nice song all around :D The singing is quite good, and it would probably be better with a great mic. Try recording the singing somewhere really "soft", but remember to sing as loud as possible (that is, without detracting from voice quality).
The lyrics are also excellent, I might add. :)

That's a fantastic song Dylan! I'd really like to hear what it would sound like if you got a professional studio recording of it done.
I'm very impressed with your talent man
