Hi, figured maybe a photography thread for everybody would be a good idea. Post your best pictures in here, along with a nice little description, like what settings you used and lighting. Taken on a bright day in the afternoon, very fast shutter speed, lowest ISO. You can get more specific numbers by downloading the picture and looking at the EXIF data

This is one of the few pictures I've taken that I actually like, and even so I still dislike the editing. Taken in a random street in Gatlinburg, TN, very quaint little town. Very flip floppy that day, really sunny at times, raining at others. In same town, I think it would've been good had I taken it from a decent angle. But I was taking it from a chair lift, unfortunately. 'Twas a beautiful, cold looking day but I couldn't quite capture the mountains (misty). Post more stuff later.

Busselton Jetty. The longest jetty in the Southern Hemisphere. 2 kilometers long. There used to be a little train that carried people to the end, but that's no longer in service. A very nice walk. Dog Rock, Albany. Where does this lead to?

Nice. Nice. What is up with the Spoiler button? Having to click on it just to view each pic is annoying. Why not just let the pics load automatically like in the other posts? Yummy! Nice. And self portrait Nice.

Just takes up too much room. If everybody did that it'd probably overload the board. Also, if you have a weaker internet connection it could cause huge slowdown.... and not everybody wants to look at all the pictures... maybe they jsut wanna read the posts. Anyways it's just more considerate... if you wanna look at the pics so bad then just take the extra second to click a few buttons

These are pics that I took with my phone, a cheap samsung. But they turned out surprisingly well. ^ Prly my best, taken with my phone. ^ Used to cross these everyday on my way to and from work. They always gave me a creepy feeling, so I thought Negative was appropriate. All of these were in a moving car, btw. ^ I think I might've been so focused on the picture that I was in the middle of the road, lol. Or maybe I did it on purpose... hmm.

I really like taking photos of animals. I think I got some pretty good ones at the Singapore Zoo. Mind you, my camera is nothing special. Nice shot!!! Did you do a long exposure, lightning trigger, or just luck? 15 second exposure, F/11 and 100 ISO. I messed up an earlier shot because I underestimated just how bright the bolt is and it completely overexposed.

There's some great stuff in this thread. I never knew so many DVer's were into photography. I've been messing around with it as a hobby lately. I use my dad's Sony DSC-H50, it's a decent DSLR. I'm kinda short on time now, but I'll post some of my photos tomorrow morning.

I was at Lake Garda two weeks ago, and I liked how two of my photos turned out, so I thought I'd post them here. Now I'm not a photographer, I just point and click. But I hope you'll bear with me. Full resolution Full Resolution They are composites of respectively three and two shots, but other than that I've done no editing (though they could benefit from it). They're taken from a mountain above Malcesine.

Favorites from my trip to the Frederick, MD Watershed today. HIGH-REZ - My favorite field of rocks. The rattle snakes love to hang out here. HIGH-REZ - The fall colors are setting in strong now. HIGH-REZ - One of the streams that feeds the city's water reservior.
