Well it obviously is more than that! I'll link you the original image, and then compare that to the sigs. You take a good stock, and make it your own. Even if you're using brushes, you still (most likely) didn't make them yourself. I don't see how that's any more artistic.Quote:

Could be as elaborate as destroying an army or as simple has having some rocks orbit around him (those are just examples; I don't particularly want either one; just something that demonstrates the figure's power and looks cool).
If the person making it could find an attractive way to fit my user name (Stygian) on there, that would be nice as well (maybe barely visible against the background, and not too large; again, an example, and not specifically what I want, as, in this case, I don't exactly know what I want).
For an avatar, I don't know what I want. At all. I don't know if I want to change it from what it is, or if I want a piece from the sig used as the avatar. If someone wants to make one, I like Coheed and Cambria, and would like for something relating to their story to pop up there (in the avatar, not the sig). Maybe the album cover of their 4th album (No World for Tomorrow), with the guy silhouetted (yeah, I love it), and some new destruction imagery being added. But nothing relating to the actual members of the band or their instruments of choice. I like their music, not them (only because I don't know them, not because I think they're bad people). But I dunno.

Except actually show some gore, but not too much. Just a bit of blood (though if the blood was done in solhouetted form it would just appear to be a black substance; I don't know if this would work to well or not). The ones closest to the figure will be exactly like in the video. Then the next closest will be in the process of getting blasted. The ones farther than that would be mostly intact, but there is any room in-between the people for light to get through, if they have a body part in that area, it get's blasted off.
This would work best if they were black silhouettes and the main silhouetted figure was a golden color. And instead of a star or galaxy, just some heavenly looking clouds would work best for a shiny golden figure. But that might make him look like some sort of hero or good guy, and that's not exactly what I was looking for.
And they should all look menacing (trying to run away or protect themselves with shields or their arms or something, but menacing). We wouldn't want to give the impression that our main figure is killing innocents.
All that is just the image in my head. But again, if you can think of something other than a dude slaughtering a bunch of other dudes that is godlike and looks cool, throw it in there. I hope I didn't give you the idea that that's all I wanted.

Having the main figure point-and-shoot, it might be better for him to just be vaporizing one guy, and then have people looking at that dude and freaking out, rather than have an area of effect. The actual color of the figure and the white around him suggests he is radiating light, but it doesn't look like it. He has the colors of bright and shiny, but he doesn't actually look bright and shiny.
The background looks better. I especially like the stuff on the left side.

I scrounged a few tutorials together from googling that I will look at on a later occasion. I didn't find any in-depth beginner tutorials for the latest version of GIMP. And thanks for the GIMPology link. I'll check that out later too.

The black bits represent people. The fuzzy black areas are disintegrated bits. The energy hits the first wave of people and disintegrates all of them, and some slips through the cracks in between people and hits the ones behind them, and then more behind those. All I did was the skew thing I said, then Filters>Ripple>75% and large>Overlay as the blending option.

Alright, this thread is not for bickering, I'm very well fine with Mario doing requests for those not able to get on the waiting list, as long as he also contributes to those on the list when it's in his capabilities, if this ends up not being the case then a staff re-management will occur. Do not turn this into a debate or an arguement, if you feel another staff member is troubling the thread then PM me, but trust me, i'm moderating this thread very much so and no abuse of staff responsibilities or requestees will occur.

Yeah, we do have a lot more people on the team than we dis originally, so an expansion I think would be quite alright with me.
But yeah, big step up with that latest one, but perhaps try a vertical shrink a little bit more so it matches the angle of the water surface more- what you had the first time was just a tiny too much skew with a height too big, so just experiment-- try to get it parallel to the surface if possible, and if the opacity is down when you plug in the blending option, I'd up that too 100%, just so the filter can pick up more contrast with the colours of the text and more reflective on the water surface.

Well I wow'd beeyahoi and Xiper, and both those were quick. By easy, I don't mean vague. I mean one's I can picture and execute in far less time than a VERY specific project. And an easy one for me takes about 30 minutes, and hard can take multiple hours.
Well, all I can say is that the longer you do gfx, the more detailed you get with each of your projects. In the beginning, I could do an easy sig. in 30 minutes, but now that I know that I can do so much more, I take an extra 30 minutes to add additional features,details, or effects to make it looks 2x as good.Quote:
