Thread: Art Design Team

Hey! Sorry I've been gone so long. I've had a long vacation...that involved mostly sleeping. Only one LD in the end though. But I'm back now! And now I've got a whole class period to do stuff for the forum, call it homework and GET CREDIT FOR IT? Can you believe that? Anyway, no offense to Lomebririon, but I think that the banner could use work. However, I'd say that Lom should be the head of any work that we do, since he's shown that he's more than capable of really great artwork. In fact, I'd say that he should be team leader. Well, this is how things look so far:

-We've got 1 bit of concept art for the banner, provided that we change it. Looks great, btw
-We're still undecided on if we'll change the banner
-The color scheme stays. PERIOD. I likses it too.


So what else are we going to do? We haven't really talked about any other ideas.

Fair enough. I disagree, but respect your opinion. What's wrong with it exactly? I'd like to know for future reference.

Well; It'd be cool, but I think Aphius will do a fine job as Art Team Coordinator. Ice chose him, i'm fine with that. I'll still play a large part in the work we do though.

Can you tell me honestly why he's more appealing as a leader than me?

Aphius - They probably haven't seen any of your artwork (you don't display it as much as Lom (I think?).

P.S.: I too would like to know what is wrong with the banner. The simple "dreamviews" text in the bubble shows how we all like to live in our heads here ^^. I don't see what is wrong with it...

Actually, I think he might have just posted that before he read the whole..."Aphius is your new team leader" post and probably didn't realize a leader was already chosen? At least that's how I took it...

Heh...yeah, I hadn't seen that Ice had made Aphius the team leader when I posted that. Still, Aphius's a great leader.

Lom- I don't really have a huge problem with the image, it's just that it's been around so long that it's getting boring. By the way, I love your new siggie and avatar!

hey everyone. i'm an art major studying illustration and i'm pretty good with the 'shop too. i didn't have enough time today to read through this whole thread but if there is a project i could try my own at let me know!

ok, here is the concept i've come up with for a new banner. I've stuck to the blue, dreamy colours theme and kept the cloud/thought bubble. (oh yea, theres also a star behind the cloud infront of the word "believe")

No offence, but I still like Lom's . Maybe it's just because I'm so used to it?

If we DO decide to change it, people submit what they want and then we have a poll (including the option keep Lom's).

If we have a competition about what new banner to use, i'm just going to have to make a better one and be chosen again. You know it's true.

Cool banner Phallam...I dunno, just looks a little "photoshoppy" to me if you know what I mean. I'd prefer Lome's to that one...but it is still nice.

Erm...what's going on? I can't see anything. I've tried looking at it on three computers now...even a Mac! It's just not showing up.

Hey, I was wondering if there were still positions open on the ADT. If there are, I can provide a sort of portfolio?

What happened to the official list of people on the team? It used to be on the staff page along with the tech team. Now I can't see how gigantic or puny the team is. Also, if the tech team gets colored names why doesn't the art team? I mean, according to the color of the list on the old DV the art team was un-bold blue, but it's the exact same color as the regular user names.

And for people wondering how you join, the only sure way I've seen is being a contributing member if the signature/avatar team, but that won't be happening any time soon if the thread stays locked.
