Well, I can definitely tell this site is helping me with dream recall. I never have dreams with clear meaning, or ones as long and vivid as last night.
I fell asleep on my usual Friday night time, around 1:00 AM, and woke up at about 7:25. No dreams from there. Then, I tried to meditate, clear mind, be still, etc, eventually drifted off to sleep.

Dream 1. I started with my family in Belize, a second-world Central American country where we recently vacationed. Should have sent off alarm bells in my head right there, but I've been doing this for like a week. >.< Then, we left, and arrived back in the city we live in, we noticed people snorkeling in the water, many of whom were dead. I walked along, and then the scene changed.
Dream 2. This was more third person viewing of other people, like watching a movie (with a crazy, senseless plot). Sauron and various evil characters from the Lord of the Rings were snorkeling under some tunnel full of murky, green water like the Poison Pond level in Donkey Kong Country. They reached the end, which was a fairly nice house, inhabited by the British guy from Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. He locked them in the tunnel, which had a small amount of land in it, and then Gollum came out to eat them. Sauron pulled out the eye of the crocodile from Happy Gilmore (watched the movie before bed) and threw it into the water. Then it sort of faded.

Underlying themes were my recent vacation, Lord of the Rings and films in general. The day before I had been trying to create a lucid in which I was in the Matrix by thinking about it a lot. My subconscious mind connected it to other films, and away we went.

Nothing tonight, but when I was meditating I got close to a WILD. I started feeling heavy and numb, then started seeing images. I tried to focus on one and make it into a dream, but it didn't happen, I entered SP or something just short of it. The whole word started to spin, because I didn't feel like I was moving. My heart sped up really fast, and the patterns went by quickly. It felt odd, but not bad. Then I heard what sounded like a guy opening a can of soda and walking towards me, which scared me. I started trying to get out, to make it stop. A little later (couldn't tell time) the vibrations and stuff stopped and I calmed down. While it was a failure, at least I know what to shoot for when I'm trying to WILD. =)

That wasn't a total failure, you almost had it. Seriously, you were really really close! The images and coke can sound were the fist stage of sleep. Hypnagogic Halucinations (pre-sleep), similar to what schizophrenics experience.

Once you begin to see stuff, just let it progress naturally, it will turn into a dream eventually. During that stage, you may feel phantom limbs in addition to your real body, that means you're almost there. Try swinging those limbs around, rolling out of your body, or grabbing at the images you see.

By the way, meditation is a great way to enter the hypnagogic stage with full awareness. Unfortunately it makes you more prone to SP or seeing things in your room when you wake up, which are know as hypnopompic hallucinations (post sleep).

Thanks, Cusp.

Nothing for 4/19. My dream recall is complete shit, I should work on that before I try to WILD again anyway. No point if I can't remember it. =P

4/20 - Got something. Took me a while to remember it, but the recall is feeling a bit easier now. With luck I'll be remembering more

Dream 1. I was at my grandma's house when I was sitting in a chair. I realized I had telekinesis (I can only hope it feels as natural in lucids), and was moving around a small bead. At first, all I could do was move it straight to my hand. Then, I could move it around and away from me. I began doing it with larger things. The next day at lunch, I was moving a bag of oranges around, when I learned that this Indian guy at my school could fly. That's about all I can remember.
I suppose makes sense. Monday night is Heroes night. Maybe I should watch something like that or the Matrix right before bed sometimes to cause dreams which, if not lucid, are at least fun.

Main themes were school, and television.

Things involving television or film have occurred in both my recent dreams. If I see something about television the next time I dream, I think I'll have found a dreamsign.

I'm making some genuine progress in recall. I've remembered more from the past week than most months.

4/21 - Last night was so messed up.

Dream 1. I was in my language arts class in school, when this hot chick decided to let my friend bang her. Unfortunately, he made her mad, so she was going to have sex with me instead. All of a sudden she turned all ugly and the scene changed.

Dream 2 (fragment). I was in some kind of orphanage when a bunch of strippers came in.

4/22. Got fairly close to WILDing, I think. I was lying totally still for maybe 15 minutes when a scene started to form in my head. It was a guy sitting in armchair, with his back to me, at a large desk with an old person sitting behind it. I tried to let the scene draw me in, I tried to stay relaxed and just go in naturally, but it started to fade when my dumbass sister flushed the toilet for about the first time in 3 years.

All dreams occurred from third person. I was on the ground, but I was seeing from about 20 feet above.

Dream 1. I was at a house with a large pond after a porch. I was told to mow the pond (?) while my dad would guard against burglars along with my dog. But then I got bored and we switched. Then a guy with some weird speech impediment came and stole a bunch of money and my dog. I chased after him, and ended up in a nasty pond full of people.

4/23. It seems the constant RC technique is making my dreams much longer and vivider, which will be great if I lucid one of these nights. =D

Dream 1: I was in my history class at 3 AM, and a bunch of people were sleeping when some other people came in and talked about how there was a ghost in the building. For whatever reason, I had what looked like a master mace from Fable 2 sitting by me. We were trying to get ready when it came and went in between possessing people with this little stick/root/wand thing. I gave the mace to this really tall guy who started swinging around in a circle trying to hit the ghost, and missed. We left the room and ran to the back of the library, and I moved books. Other people went outside through a window. Supposedly, it would let out the ghost to open the door. 5 people had left, and they needed a 6th to kill it with mirrors. I was the smallest left, so I had to go out. Then I woke up.

Real Life: At 4:30, real time, I woke up, and tried to remember everything I could about WBTB, DEILD, WILD, all those ones that are helped by sleeping. Didn't work, just crashed and dreamed more.

Dream 2: I was in my school library, which had a cafe in the back. I ate there, and it turned out I could fly, but not very well. There was an evil wizard in a tiny zip-lock bag, held in by two AA batteries. Apparently, flying was the only way to stop him (?). I began to fly again, but this time I pretended like I was swimming through air. I could fly pretty well, and the wizard stopped trying to get out. WTF?
Then I was in a house inhabited by this guy from school I don't like, an Xbox Live friend and some random chicks. I saw the guy I didn't like washing dishes, and everyone else was gathered in a living room telling stories. I talked about how I could fly, but when I tried to show them, I couldn't anymore. I had supposedly eaten something that made me fly at the cafe thing. He said that somebody did it every time there was a war. And they always got banned. WTF?

I think I've found a dreamsign (2, actually), though. School/People from school is a recurring theme in a lot of my dreams. I also have superpowers a lot, which is a bit more obvious than seeing people from school.

4/24 - I was really tired last night and never bothered to try and meditate, concentrate on breathing, etc. before sleep, and I just crashed. Ended my recall spree of 1 or more semi-vivid dreams a night.

I think I had a dream about a different Internet forum I sometimes use, but I can't be bothered to sift through old posts to see if it was a dream or just late last night.

4/25 - Yes! Best night I've had since joining DV. Got pretty close to WILD or DILD or something twice last night.

Night time - I told myself I'd fall asleep and wake up at 4, then I fell asleep

Dream 1. Some scientists are in a lab full of computers and green stuff in tubes, etc., and one says humans have vegan DNA or something weird like that. Then the other one gets super pissed and is yelling at the other one, kicking him, etc., and he's like, "It's one thing not to like meat, but don't ever talk shit about while I'm around!"

Real life - I wake up all of a sudden at 5:30. So that setting your internal clock stuff to wake you up isn't completely untrue. I'll say to wake up at 3 or so, because I seem to be a bit late. I tried to WBTB a few times, with results extremely close to success, or success very close to failure.

Dream 2. Very short. I was in my old science classroom, in the lying on the floor. I realized I wouldn't have science today, and did the nose RC. I literally woke up while I was doing it, and was actually starting to move my arm in real life.
Technically my first lucid, but since I spent the entire duration of it in the fetal position on the ground, I won't count it.

Dream 3. I was in the condo thing we stayed in on our last vacation, and my mom was calling the police officer who works at my school. I had thought we were in Florida, but she had said, "Well, we needed a week off to relax and exercise and stuff, so we went to the Banamas for a while." Wait. WTF. That's not a place. This is a dream. Before I had time to realize that what I had done was working, I had already woken up.

Two lucids in one night, both so shitty I barely moved and in total lasting less than 5 seconds.

I think with another couple of tries and waking up at a better time (more life 3-4 instead of 5:30) I could definitely get at least one semi-good lucid in a night.

4/26 - I am an idiot. I am a total dumbass.

Before bed, I told myself to get up at 4 so I could try to WBTB. I kept repeating this, and then drifted off.

Dream 1. I was at my house and I saw this naked chick in the yard who was really hot. I tried to walk up to her and get it on several times, but every time I got close my mom would make me walk the dog.

Real life - I wake up suddenly, and look at my clock. 4:03. Pretty damn close. But then I ask, close to what? I couldn't remember why I got up at 4. I rolled over and went back to sleep. I didn't remember any more dreams.

The moral of the story - Include why you're getting up when you're using autosuggestion and not an alarm clock.

Thanks for that. =)

4/27 - Some nights just make you really wonder how fucked up your subconscious must be to think this shit up.

I told myself to wake up at 4, and drifted off.

Dream 1. There was some kind of giant sewer pipe, full of weird creatures that looked to be some kind of mixture of a pirahna, a mermaid and Keanu Reeves. There were these people there who couldn't breathe underwater, who were swimming away from a bunch of them. In the middle of the tunnel, they stopped swimming and started having sex. The whole scene faded.

Dream 1.5. This was related to the last one and very short, but a completely different scene.

The woman from Dream 1 was in some kind of news interview (think 60 minutes) and was asked why she acted how she did. She explained that she had done the same with her previous boyfriend, and knew it was a mistake but did it again. (?)

Real life. I woke up at 5:30 when I told myself to get up at 4. My bodyclock seems to be almost always wrong with times but always constant. I seem to be an hour and a half slow, which explains why waking up at 7:00 normally feels like the middle of the fucking night.

I tried to do a WBTB, but there was starting to be light outside and I couldn't fall back asleep. I really think that within a couple nights of getting up at 2-4 and a few tries each night, I can get lucid.

Edit: It seems my journal is a hot topic now. O_o

4/28 - I don't remember ever having so many dreams in one night as last night.

I told myself to wake up at 1:30, just to confirm my body clock's lagging behind an hour and a half.

Dream 1. I was in my house, standing by the counter, when I was about to microwave a hot dog. However, my mom told me to stop because it contained the film of my dad being in a car crash and dying (WTF?). My sister told me to eat it anyway because she's a vegetarian and she didn't want it to be there anyway. There was more of a story behind it, but I don't remember it.

Dream 2. I was in a lake somewhere with a giant waterfall, which I wanted to climb up. That wasn't a problem at all, the only problem was getting Shamu from Sea World up too (WTF?). Eventually, I decided it was better for Shamu to stay on the lake and go up alone, and there was a store at the top. I don't remember much about the store except that it was orange. When I looked back down, Shamu was gone, and I decided to go find him. I decided the best thing to do was to go look for him. As I was deciding how to do that, the dream faded.

Real life - I woke up at 3:15. It's the weirdest thing - my internal clock seems to work just fine, but it's 1.5-2 hours fast. IDK what happened that one time I woke up at 4. Anyway, I thought about trying to WBTB, but I was really tired.

Dream 3. There was a website about a guy named Bob. If you found Bob, you went to some kind of fast food drive-thru. I decided it would be a good idea to find Bob because I really wanted some food. I don't remember exactly how, but I ended up finding Bob. I don't remember Bob saying anything or even moving. If you've ever seen the Zero Punctuation videos that one British guy makes, he looks kind of like the picture of the guy that flashed up whenever he says "average." He looked kinda like Rick Astley, but with black hair.
Anyway, the whole scene faded and all of a sudden I was in the driver's seat of a car, not driving it, yet it was going through the drive-thru anyway. I don't remember ordering any food, but there was a hot chick in the car, and I decided she was more important than food, but before anything interesting happened, the dream ended.

4/29 - I remembered at least 5 different ones when I woke up, but over the 12 hours I've been awake. I need to start waking up 20 minutes early to record it. Not that I could use my internal clock because it varies by over 20 minutes.

Fragment 1. There were two dispensers, both of which contained skittles. One had all purples, the other had a mixture of all colors.

Dream 1. There was some kind of news report about snow in Russia that was so hot it was deadly for people to be near. Apparently, if you walked on a patch for too long, it turned into fire (WTF?). All of a sudden, I was in Russia, surrounded by snow. I was scared because I thought it would turn into fire, so I ran towards some trees. But trees are wood and wood burns, so that is bad. I then realized I should have ran for the igloo a while back. The dream faded, I suppose I died from fire-snow.

Fragment 2. I was in the shower and I was having a conversation with one of my school friends about something I can't remember. BTW, the other person wasn't in the shower.

Dream 2. I was in my basement and I was playing a game that was really weird. I don't remember much of it, but I remember my character was in a tank somewhere that looked kind of like a level from Halo 3. Except everything was green. I played this for a while and then I turned around and saw some people from my school standing there. There was one who was just a floating head (WTF?).

4/30 - Memory of last night had fewer fragments than recently.

Dream 1. This one didn't really make much sense. There was some type of football game going on, and I was disappointed afterward. I think my team lost, but I don't watch football so I couldn't tell WTF what was happening. But I don't think my mind was doing it right. A touchdown is more than 1 point, right?
As I was leaving, there was a really tall guy. Like, huge. 20+ feet tall. I remember being scared, and panicking as I remembered I forgot something. But what? Before I remembered the dream ended.

Dream 2. I was in a spaceship and these alien people told me to stop experimenting with human DNA. WTF. So I decide just to do what they stay, and I jump out of the spaceship. I land up in the middle of the ocean, but then I'm on land (WTF?). I'm by some kind of elevator which goes up to my house, when I notice a pool full of semi-hot chicks and one hot one. I jump in, and the hot one decides to follow me up to my room. I turn around, and by the time I'm naked she's gone. WTF.

Real life. I woke up at 6:30 without even telling myself to. What the shit. I couldn't fall back asleep.

I'm remembering two pretty long ones fairly consistently now. I think with the 3-day-weekend ahead, I could try to do some WBTBs. Sleep lost doesn't matter much for a few days.

Edit: Lol. 69th post.

5/1 - After about 2 weeks of trying to WBTB, I manage to MILD on the first try.

I tell myself over and over, "I will realize that I'm dreaming," as I fell asleep.

Dream 1. I'm driving a mini van down this curvy road in the middle of the forest when two cars appear, one in each lane, both coming towards me. I wreck the car trying to avoid them both, and then the driver of one car gets out and starts yelling at me. I'm really starting to get scared of what's going to happen next, when I realize I don't know how to drive. I must be dreaming. I lose lucidity once I wake up though.

Real life - I then try to DEILD. I only barely moved by accident, and I tried to visualize the first place that came to mind - my room. I vaguely remember seeing my upstairs, but that was probably some kind of HI or something.

Dream 2. I'm in my school gym and it's full of people. There are never this many people in the gym at once. This must be a dream. It started to fade, so I rubbed my hands and spun around, and it got fairly clear. I tried to do various things like fly, summon objects/people, etc., but I couldn't really control anything. It was surprisingly vivid, though. I could see and hear clearly, and my other senses were working slightly. I decided that since I couldn't use any powers yet, that I should just use my normal physical abilities and start going crazy on everyone. As I'm trying to decide my first victim, I wake up.

Based on the levels of lucidity thing, I'll call that one a 90%.

I'm going to try to MILD again every night for a while. My first real lucid.

5/2 - I suppose I shouldn't be disappointed; I've heard of people not getting lucid again for weeks after the first time.

I kept telling myself to MILD. Didn't work even though my dream sign was plainly and obviously there...

Fragment 1. There was a planetarium or something. And the background was white.

Dream 1. I was in my history class, and people kept getting shorter and taller, until eventually some people just left the classroom. I couldn't leave, because I had to turn in some folders. I did that, and then left. But because I stole some yardsticks on the way out, another guy came up behind me and trapped me with a bunch of rulers, and started making a PowerPoint. It started to fade then.

Dream 2. I didn't remember this one until the night of the 3rd. There was something about these people, who were Chinese. I was viewing a scene of the Far East from above, like a map. There was something going on in Japan and China, but the Chinese people went to Japan. It didn't make much sense, and I don't remember much.

5/3 - I'm having a lot of trouble falling asleep lately. I'm gonna try and buy one of those tempur-pedic mattress cover things. Less sleep seems to equal less recall. =/

HH 1. I was nearly asleep when I heard what sounded like my dad saying, "...all over the dog," in his really pissed off voice. I didn't see anything to go with it. I really doubt it was a dream, because there was no image, and I've never been blind in a dream before.

Dream 1. This one was really weird, because I was viewing this from 3rd person, from above. I'm not even sure if I was there, but there was a person the dream was following (I never saw a face), who I'll just say was me.
I was in a giant cave, wandering around, when I came to a dead end that was full of lava. So I went the other way for a long time, and came to these giant pillars which were in front of a city. After this, everything went black and white. In the city, there was a building with a hole where a door should have been, and a sign out front that advertised having ice. When I went in, the dream faded.

Dream 1. This one's really vague. It was my earliest one, and it involved something about siblings and a large map.

Dream 2. For some reason I kept getting on planes to places really far away. I liked to fly from coast to coast in America because I could stretch my legs out all the way in my seat (?). This went on for some time. WTF.

Dream 3. My family and I were in Alaska when this guy at what was going to be our hotel/living place told us not to step on the cacti. He also said there was no heat in any of the rooms and there were no doors. We started walking, but we couldn't tell which plants were cacti, and by the time we got to the building we had stepped on a bunch of cacti and our feat were covered in what looked like pimples, but my dad's feet were burned. He then vowed to kill the guy at least once before we left (WTF?).

Dream 4. There was a party in the North Pole hosted by a guy claiming to be the weirdest guy in the world looking for other weird people. Ted from How I Met Your Mother was there and was talking to a guy who didn't speak very much English, and had a fruit stand. I don't know WTF that was about. There was also a globe showing cities by the weirdness of their people. And one guy had a space station which he said could dehydrate anything on Earth in 12 weeks. WTF.

5/5 - My internal clock seems like it's run on a hand crank by a retard who occasionally gets sugar high.

I told myself to wake up at 1:30 (which, on my retard clock, should have been 3)

Dream 1. I was climbing up a mountain with something coming with me that looked like Gollum with beagle ears. At the top, there was a guy with a lot of money, which he gave to the Gollum thing, who jumped off. I jumped off after him, but when I got to the ground, the Gollum thing had given it to a homeless guy. I tried to make the homeless guy give me the money (what would a homeless guy do with money?), but he refused. I walked off, disappointed, when I found out I actually had the money.

Dream 2. There was a rich guy with a really big house. He looked kind of like Alec Baldwin. He held a lottery, but it was weird. Every ticket had a value from billions to trillions of dollars, and he picked who won. He was really unfair about it, he always gave the guy with the least money the money. The tickets were kind of like the Bonus Round cards on Wheel of Fortune, and everyone was sad when somebody opened one for like 8.5 billion (depressing). I decided I should fix the lottery, but I got distracted. I don't remember what it was, but I remember something about a pool.

Real life - I sit up and realize it's 5:30. I thought about doing a WBTB, but it would have been too late by then, and I had already moved, so no DEILDing. I just rolled over and went back to sleep. I think the thing to do from now on is to say how long until I wake up, not the time. It'd probably be easier for my head-retard to understand.

Dream 3. I was in a movie theater with my parents. They weren't my real parents in real life, but they were my real parents in the dream. There was no movie playing, just a movie theater. I could zoom in with my vision (kind of like looking through a telescope), except I could see much less. When I zoomed in, I could see a little box, around which three green circles kept turning. Everything else was black. All of a sudden, my dad started getting stabbed. He dies and his eyes are all bloody. However, when I'm in a library the next day, they say he wrote a book about how it felt before he died (WTF. That's one of the more fucked up things I've dreamed).

Fragment 1. This was a part of Dream 3, but it was so disconnected that I don't know when it occurred chronologically.

I was in MS Paint coloring a picture of Falco. From Star Fox. I was coloring his eyes yellow.

5/6 - That dream was incredibly long and vivid. I've never had anything nearly that long.

I told myself to wake up in 5 hours, to test out if I should say that instead of a time as much as to keep my autosuggestion skills good.

Fragment 1. I was eating a piece of pizza. The box was the Papa John's X-Men Wolverine movie special pizza. But the pizza was really thin.

Real life. I woke up around 3:30, and I got into bed at 10:15. I don't know the time I fell asleep, but it's pretty close anyway. I tried to WILD, but I couldn't get comfortable.

Dream 1. The first part didn't last long. I was in the office of an old guy, who looked kinda like Dumbledore from the first Harry Potter movie. He had a closet inside a closet inside a closet etc (yo dawg...). There were 11 closets. But in the last closet, there was a room. I don't remember if I went in there, but I saw the place before the next part.

In the next part, I had finished something outside, no idea what, but I went in and was in the office from before. It turned out the room was some kind of time machine, that could also stop time. There were some other people I didn't recognize with me who I hadn't noticed before, and we had to do something in the past. IThat's why we needed the room. I couldn't remember what. By the time we got there, we only had a small amount of time to fix it. But WTF was it? I'll try my best to describe the scene:

There was a big garage type thing with the door down, and debris and wreckage around but a path about twice as wide as a car clear. The ground was asphalt. After the path and debris there was some grass on either side, and then a cliff on either side of that, one going up, the other down. Time was stopped, so no one else was moving. One guy was leaning back, as though dodging a bullet Matrix style. I think he was the reason we came back. There were other people around him, one holding the gun that fired it, others seemed to be fighting each other, although that's not as clear now.

I didn't have much time to take it all in, because all of a sudden I wasn't there any more, it was like I was watching a movie. I (or the camera) was in midair, when the floating heads of the people from before started appearing, all talking too fast to understand. Supposedly they were fixing whatever was wrong with the situation. The last person decided to leave an apple there for some reason (WTF?). Suddenly, a big rift thing opened up in the sky. It looked a tear in a sheet of paper, with blackness behind. The future people got sucked in.

I think I had other dreams that I wrote about in my written DJ, but this one was so vivid I pretty much forgot the others.

5/7 - I need to make more detailed notes in my written DJ when I first wake up. I don't remember as much as I did.

Dream 1. This was pretty long, but I don't remember much. I was napping a lot (in the dream), and I decided that I had gotten pretty good at it. I decided to get professional with it (because that's a pretty popular sport). I don't remember what came next.

Dream 2. I was on a beach with a lot of buses on it. The beach was near a city. I grabbed the handle on the front of one of the buses and started dragging it through the water (because that works so much better than driving it around). All of a sudden I recognized one guy on the bus, but I kept on going. I dragged the bus through the water pretty easily, considering it was a bus, and then I reached the dock. There was no part to step on at the level of the door. I got up somehow, and then I went inside the building. Then it ended.

Dream 3. I was in a bathroom stall and there was this hot chick in there with me and every time I tried to have sex with her she started crying. I can't imagine why, because I was following the directions on the poster I brought.

5/8 - I don't even remember sleeping last night, much less dreaming. I was rolling around trying to get comfortable, when all of a sudden it was 7 in the morning. I rolled over and slept until 10, and had a few dreams.

Fragment 1. Something about a tube of toothpaste. It was empty. Mine nearly is.

Dream 1. I was in my room with like 4 or 5 other people who I didn't recognize. Apparently it was actually some kind of boat. One of the people said something like, "It's weird that the Southern France Islands are named after France, because they hate each other." I don't think that's even a place. The scene changed here.

Another person, this one really fat, had just peed in a box in my closet. I took it to the bathroom to dump it out in the toilet, when the counter got all wet. I dumped the box out in the toilet, and everyone came to help me wipe the strange liquid off the table.

I suppose it's reasonable to have only a dream and a fragment when you only sleep 3 hours. =/

5/9 - Deja vu. I feel like I wrote this already. Maybe I dreamed about it.

I tried a technique that said to stay awake for 4-5 hours after you normally go to sleep, rather than sleeping and waking up. I sat around, lying on the floor when I got too comfortable, and something weird happened. I was sitting up further than I usually do so I wouldn't fall asleep, and then stared at the answering machine. It has a big red button in the middle, which I stared into. I sort of zoned out, just looking at the button, and to the side of that, a little box with some letters/numbers flashing back and forth. I just stopped thinking. My vision lost focus and I felt almost like I was in SP/HH/whatever it was I had a few weeks ago. Then my sister flushed the toilet, and I lost all focus. Once I tried to do it again, it didn't work.

I eventually just went to sleep, and the technique just butchered my recall, probably because I barely slept.

Fragment 1. I had wrote a really big 10-page paper for English, when I remembered the one I actually wrote IRL.
