      Right Brain or Left Brain

Check out this picture and try to see which way does it spin clockwise or counterclockwise.

I see it clockwise most of the time, but after a while I could change directions if I concentrate I guess I'm more right brained.

Also you can look at the most bottom of the picture, the shadow of the leg repeats itself always in the same way no matter how you look at it.

So you can see the shadow and imagine the rest of the body spin they way you want it and change directions this way.

Urgh, it goes clockwise for me and I can't make it go the other. So more right-brained, yeah. Which is cool with me.

Try reading the text next to it and you might see it change directions.

      Thanks, I will do.

I've heard of other ways to check right/left brain dominance. How you fold your arms, how you put your hands together, so on.

Hehe so cool! I only got it to change directions by looking at it through peripheral vision. It was spinning clockwise at first btw.

I'm skeptical that this has anything to do with which side of the brain you use most though. But a cool illusion, nonetheless.

I would guess.... that most of the members on this dream website would see it going clockwise,

Naturally most of us would be more imaginative and creative, using the right side of the brain more...

Heck, we are hear to talk about dreams

Yep, I saw it going clockwise also

      Clockwise, though I am left-brained.

To change its direction, rotate your finger in front of the picture in the desired direction. Focus on your finger, but be aware of the dancer in your peripheral vision. Wait until you see the dancer going in the direction of your finger and look back.

Look at it through your peripheral vision, as both Nef and Mes have said. It does go counter-clockwise, eventually.

The link isn't working but I googled it and found one. It went counterclockwise for me but as I was reading text to the side I got it going clockwise then when I looked at it it was counter again, but I could switch it back and forth.

I can see it turn both ways.

edit: and without crazy techniques and looking from the side. Just requires concetration.

I think it has something to do with the shadow.

It's like does it make sense to you if it goes with the objects motion or against it.

The most lower shadow thats is that doesn't spin but just go in an arc.

      I see her laying down/

That is very cool. I can't get it to go counter clockwise. There has to be a transitional point.

EDIT - I got it to go counter clockwise. So cool. It happens and it always reverts back. I CAN'T STOP IT!
This could keep me occupied for hours.

It's a silhouette without proper dimensions. The lack of perspective therefore unables us to tell which way she's actually turning.

It has nothing to do with the shadow. It's a reflection.

If she is turning both ways, which way is she actually turning?

The animation is obviously generated with a 3D program, like 3DStudio Max or Blender.

However, since there's close to no perspective in the picture, it's hard to tell which way she's really turning. I'd say counterclockwise, since that's how it looked the first time I saw the picture. I can control her turning on will now, but yea. I feel intrigued to say clockwise.

This is so cool I love those optical illusions at first she was spinning counter-clockwise after staring at it for about 30 or 40 seconds I got her to spin in the other direction then after about another 30 seconds I could change her directions at will.

      Nice tits.

She spins both ways, meaning I am both and am in harmony with by halves.

      There are no dynamic lights.

Because there are no dynamic lights, your brain cannot use its amazing ability to sense shades in an object for depth perception, here you see a 2d morphing image which can change direction.

The same thing can be applied with a shadow. Go outside and get a leaf rake. Turn it upside down and spin it, you will see the same effect.

It spun clockwise initially for me, then I made it reverse, then reversed it again, then it reverted back to counter-clockwise by itself for a couple turns, then back to clockwise. I love these things.

      Cool find.
