hey that guy is pretty cool! I like the Bruce Lee Karate Chop pic.
One thing that boggles my mind is how he managed to write those sentences out on that circular canvas, while at the same time making the image of a face. It seems like I have a lot in common with this person. Recently I have been working on a type of pointillism myself, but I use gunpowder to make the imagery. Basically I just spread it out on watercolor paper (because it has some thickness to it) and use a series of burns to create lighter and darker shades. But since it burns in a granular fashion, it ends up looking like pointillism. I'll post a pic of a lotus flower I made with this technique not too long ago. At the moment, I’m working on a 40" x 60" piece of a nude woman, but I still have a lot to do. I also had an idea that involves blood. My fiancé had been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes about a year after we had gotten together. Since then, I had saved up all of her test strips, which are these plastic strips that soak up her blood in order to test her blood glucose levels. They are only 1" by 1/4", but so far I have enough for a 20" x 20" square if I put them all into a grid. I was then thinking of painting a picture of her (or us) over these strips with my own blood. *sigh
I’ll tell you what, one of the most difficult aspects of art for me is coming up with an awesome and original idea, only to discover that some else has done/is doing something just like it. It makes you feel so violated, even if they did it first!
